Chicken Thighs vs. Chicken Breasts?

So on a recommendation I read somewhere, I decided to throw some chicken thighs onto the Foreman grill today instead of the traditional chicken breasts. I must say, these chicken thighs are way better than chicken breasts! Soft and not dry at all.

So whats the disadvantages of going with chicken thighs versus chicken breasts? I might go exclusively chicken thighs from now on. In addition, thighs are about $4 cheaper than breasts at the Sam's Club too. Win-win!

Breasts are more flexible because its basically only protein (a couple grams of fat).

More fat, eh? **** ... I thought I was onto something here.

Good to eat every once in a while instead of the standard chicken breasts and tuna fish, but not all the time eh?

Hmm ... since thighs has more fat than breasts, 9g of thighs probably has less protein than 9g of breasts. **** .. that throws my nutrient calculations all off then.

Yeah it's softer because of the higher saturated fat content, you can find a comparison on fitday or such sites if you really want to know.

To be honest I find the chicken breasts easier to work with anyhow, just the shape and size alone makes for better meal planning and allocation.

Chicken tenderloins have .5 grams of fat per 4 oz serving and are even juicier/softer/tastier then breast meat. They are more expensive but at 22 grams of protein and .5 grams of fat per 4 oz they are hard to beat.

I wouldn't eat them everyday, but they are still a great food. Especially for bulking.

Don't worry about the fat that's in chicken thighs. As long as you plan them into your diet you'll be fine. Honestly people worry waaay too much about how much fat they take in.

Eating fat does not make you fat. Eating too many calories makes you fat. Fats are essential for test production and a whole slewth of other things. Just plan them into your macros and you'll be fine. MMmm I love fat.
