Early morning crisis

Becasue of football and my work schedule, I have to lift at 5:30am. This does not effect my squats but my bench workout weight has gone down over 30lbs. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem and if my body will adapt to this in time.

Well, here is the deal, and it is reflected in westside barbell's research is that you can really only do maximally what your body is physically prepared to do, so if you are used to working out at 5 pm, and you're body has two or three meals in it and lots of carbs and protien and hormones flowing, and you drink coffee 15 minutes before, it is used to that, and that is what it is prepared to do, if you wake up, don't eat, go hit the weights, your body is still using 100% of what it is capable of doing at that given point, while your strength is exactly the same hypethetically, your preparedness is what has been lost. I know it sucks something awful though. Your body will adapt to working out in the morning, though, it takes some time, you may want to teach yourself to sleep earlier and wake up earlier so your body has time to build up energy after sleeping.
