I ran a 6.8 in the summer, I have had my 40 timed at 4.5 but that was with a hand timer so I'm not counting it. My fastest 30 yard dash was 3.86. As the quality of strength training in baseball continues to improve the standards for a good 60 time will drop, but that won't happen for another five years or so.

You should be fine, HIIT helped a lot with getting my 60 time down and I will continue to use it so I can try to get down to a 6.4 while working with my school's track coach. I would suggest all baseball players take advantage of sprinting for their winter track program.

Some coaches are dumb enough to hand time 60's, so I have put up some very good times. My best ever was a 6.8 and that was with food poisoning (almost shat my pants when I was done) so if I'm at 100% and in great shape I don't think a 6.4 HT is too far out there for me.
EDIT: I put on some weight in the summer since I could not lift though so we will see. Whatever my results are I will be glad to share them.

If you are lifting correctly then squats, power cleans, snatches, deadlifts, core movements not called crunches, and lunges have all helped me. I made a thread atleast a year ago about good baseball lifts. It is a list of atleast 20 and if you search for my previous posts you should find it.
