Any Atheists here?
Does anybody else believe that the world started from the big bang, and over millions of years earth was formed, and humans evolved from ape?
Then over the past 100-200 years, the world has came to be as we know it today?
I also think that when you die, you just rot in the ground.

I believe the origin of the universe is the big bang.

yea theres always gonna be athiests. I love it when religious people try to talk about creation-i had this friend who in freshman year tried to convince me that the earth was created by god lol, she even went on the internet and printed out like 10 pages or something and tried to cite examples from it in an effort to convince me hahaha. Yea we didn't talk for awhile after that one...lol

Big bang is the best and most plausible theory for the beginning of the universe.
Humans and apes evolved from a common ancestor, yes.

Well the fact is we have no idea what happens after death. Of course, your body simply rots away. No one would disagree with that. But no one can say with any certainty whether your consciousness remains or just "shuts off".

Religion is false. Yes the universe began from the big bang, then 9.16 billion years later earth was formed. As time went on the process of abiogenesis occured and on went evolution that formed humans.
Yes when you die you are finished and go back to how you were before you were born.
As to what caused the big bang, einstein believed in a God like that, do I? not really, I'm agnostic towards a God who only caused the big bang and small chance he started off abiogenesis.

I don't believe the big bang was the ultimate beginning. The beginning of the universe in it's current state, yes, obviously. But not the ultimate beginning. I once read a paper suggesting the theory of an eternally existing, self-reproducing chaotic inflationary universe, which I currently favor as the most accurate model of our universe. That, or possibly the Baum-Frampton cyclic model. Either way, somehow I think there was something else before the big bang of our universe.

Have you read Victor Stenger's "God: THe Failed Hypothesis". He talks a little bit about how the Universe doesn't abrogate any of the laws of thermodynamics because the universe is balanced to having 0 energy. All the forces within the universe are balanced by gravity and other negative point energies. He goes on about how a prime mover would actually make the universe NOT exist and that would abrogate the laws of thermodynamics. etc.
why aren't you 1337 anymore?

I've seen it, heard a little bit about it, but I'm yet to read it. Sounds interesting. I'm currently reading two books (End of Faith, and a book on string theory) but I'll check it out next.

haha cool, warner robins is close, like 45 mins really. I used to live in macon and always went through warner robins when I went back and forth to americus. pretty weird how we live so close to each other, thought I was the only one that lived around here. everyone else here that lives in GA always seems to be from atlanta or somewhere else north.

You ever talked to GAPump on here? Pretty sure he lives even closer to you. Just a few months ago I was talking to another dude on here who was from warner robins, and went to the same middle school as I did. He was also friends with a guy I trained MMA with. Small world.
