High calorie protein bar that doesn't melt?
Looking for something atypical here. I'm in a situation where I won't be able to keep drinking Cyto Gainer for about a week or two (space is highly limited) so am looking at finding some high calorie protein bars that don't melt easily.

You may want to look into something like a high quality granola or Trail Mix

agreed
just buy one of those mixed nuts bags with added oats/grits... works a treat...
why cant u just put a serving of protein in a sealed bag? what is making you cease protein supplementation?

I dont want a big bag of food for multiple reasons. I need something in small amounts, and individually wrapped. I don't have the space for a few tubs of weight gainer, and I dont want bags of food packed into my bags and smashed around a broken open. I also don't want to invite pests into a tent with 30 other guys.

Those look like something that would get all gooey and nasty if subjected to some heat.

Hmm...well, the Met-RX Big 100 cookie dough bar seems to melt less than their chocolate coated bars, but be warned: even when it's not very hot, the cookie dough bar is still pretty sticky. also, the taste isn't so great after a while.

While I have never exposed the VPX Bar to extreme heat, I have had it in a pocket for a few hours and it didnt really melt. I did notice that alot of oil was on the wrapper, so some of the fats did seperate. You could always bring a small cooler or cooler type lunch box and stash a bunch of bars in there with an icepack or two. That would keep them from getting too hot and wouldnt take up a ton of room.

SHaker bottle, protein in a little ziplock, add water, better for you and no worries about melting. Plus better nutritionally over any bar

VPX Zero Impact bars do not have a coating that melts, therefore they do not melt in heat. When they sit in the car for a while, they just get warm and soft sortof like a nice brownie.....mmmm.....oh yeah, not to mention the nutrient profile is off the charts as far as quality ingredients. Check out some of the latest reviews on them, there have been two or three this past week.

You have to try tri-o-plex this thing is huge. I used to buy them if you don't mind a chalky texture these are for you. Go with choc. coconut out of cookie dough, and apple I thought it was the best http://www.chefjays.net/
