It said that for a 135 pound person (me) I would need only 70g of protein per day.

Protein shakes can add as much as 200 grams or 300 grams of protein (800 to 1,200 calories) a day. If you don?t need it, the body stores all those extra calories as fat. Also, if these shakes are taking you to the high end of the protein spectrum, you may be increasing health risks?high-protein diets may cause bone loss and kidney damage.

no, i dont have 10 protein shakes a day...
i wouldnt take the advice of the article TBO, but it does have a valid point that whole food > processed supplements

****ing bull**** right there. It said some people were taking 4-5 times the RDA maximum or w.e.... 5 grams per pound in your body sounds ilke a bit much, but nobody does that...
Hmm... Muscles need protein to build... how ****ing more obvious could it get?

Heres the issue... kinesiology isn't up to date. The folks are relying on old studies to get their info from... and its only recent that we are beginning to understand scietifically the importance of protein in our diet. Scientists would tell you to base your diet 60% carbs 30% fat and 10% protein... so give it 10 years and they might catch up.

no... the rda is .8 grams per KG not pound... that makes a huge difference.
(KG = 2.2 pounds)
