Make your Own Strongman Stuff????

Well how can I do it? I never competed strongman before so I dont want to pay umpteen dollars on equippment if I dont like the sport. So how can I simulate strongman events. Ill give a list of some and you can give ideas or links

Log Press

Yoke

Farmers Carry

Tire Flip-- this one is a given Im just listing it

Stones

Drags ex. anchor and sucn

Anything I didnt mention that you have tips on please add to the list I have my own equipment and a big yard so I have pretty much versatility.

Make friends with a welder.

A friend of mine is a welder, and basically makes me anything I need. You might find one in a fabrication shop and offer to pay him to make you stuff. Still be cheaper then buying it, and you can customize it.

marunde-muscles pitbull equipment is really good, as well, for stones, you can actually go get some smoother river stones, (literally from the river) and use them to start, they are a little off balance, so it actually improves your ability to lift regular atlas stones.

i've also heard that if you go to certain farms or something, they have rock piles full of rocks they don't want, so you can get odd shaped stones there

Go Pitbull Equipment.. The Log I think Ripe99 has and certainly the one I have are well made, and cheap.... Farmers I have are from pitbull, they are also well priced..... As far as stones go, look up slater stone molds; purchase a (depending on your strength level) 18 & 20" mold with form inserts so you can manipulate the weight. For a thick bar, New York Barbell sells a gripper bar (I just bought) for 125 shipped, 2" thick, gnarled, 7ft long. Rope, this is the hard one, I went through hell to get rope @ a good price.. Look for manila rope 2", at a marine shop or look online to order, the cheapest I found it online was 200 shipped for 110 ft... Hurts, but its very much so worth it.... For olympic weights; look at your area's craigs list, I picked up 500-600 lbs of Olympic weights, + 300-400 standard weight, + Squat Rack, Bench Press+ 3 bars for 300 bucks....

The only problem I have with my 12" log is that the grip opening isnt wide enough and it slams my forearms after every rep, I leave my log days looking with really bruised forearms, so now I wear forearm sleeves for log days
