More Veggies= More hunger?
I don't know if anyone else has noticed, or if there is a good reason out there that I don't know. But the more veggies I consume, (ex green beans, wax beans, cauliflower, peppers, lettuce, tomatoes) the faster I seem to get hungry.
For example, I can have the same meal but cut the veggies and feel more satisfied and for longer than if I don't eat them.
Has anyone else noticed this effect? Or is there a reason for it?

I agree too - I definitely notice that with vegetables, especially green leafy vegetables. I'd like to know as well, because I can't really think of an explanation

I used to have that problem too. I've found if I pair fruits or veggies w/a fat I'm full for much longer.
Examples
Apple w/PB
Salad w/feta or some oil/vinegar dressing

I dont know for sure but I think it can be a feeling of digestion. We our stomach digest the exess fiber we ate with a lot of veggies and the feeling look like hunger... I dont think its a real hunger but digestion.
the worst for me is carrot and apple consume alone. With other food is better. If you have problem digest veggies try to cook them! Is really better for you belly! hehe And at the quantity we consume no danger for the vitamins! hehe

Thank you ladies, I suppose that this will just be a mystery. I still find that even when paired with other foods, protien and fats for instance I still experience this. Hmmm I wonder if it is just digestion?

I have no idea why this could be, but the same thing happens to me. When I'm starving, I try to eat vegetables BEFORE a meal so I don't completely overeat and go over my calories. Hopefully the vegetables aren't making me hungrier, lol.

Sounds like it's an issue about what you are not eating with your veggies...are you making sure you are having a complex carb, a good fat and enough protein with those meals? Veggies fill me up because they are full of fibre so they have the opposite effect with me. Maybe you need to up the portions of your other macros with those meals as you might find that it's not the veggies but the low calorie count!

Good call Sherri! I find that most people do not get enough good fats when they're complaining about being hungry all of the time. Veggies really fill me up!
