Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle vs. Game Over
I have game over, it's much simpler, but i've heard a ton about BFFM. Which is better? Is BFFM a better detailed, and tailored to your specific metabolism/goals? Any help is appreciated.

People have seen me preach by it, but I swear by BFFM. BFFM is very detailed, and it takes some work/planning to set it up. But, I like the fact that it isn't cookie cutter, and accounts for cals and macros together.

I agree. You'll need to add, tweak things in it along these lines.

i took BTFFTM more as a philosophy and not as much as a playbook.
i like coming up with my own plays anyways.

B. Spenser, do you feel like you really do have some kinda freak genetics, and all you had to do was tap into it, or was BFFM finally what worked for your body type? Im an Endo with a little meso in me because I can gain strength when I want, i just have trouble cutting. Game Over works well for those who do it but there is little to no variety in the meals. how much freedom did you have in BFFM?

I'm an Endo/Meso also, so I know what it's like. (Although I lean a bit more the the meso.) And, I wouldn't say I have freak genetics at all. If I did, I would have never gotten into the shape I was in. I may be prejudiced but I think it is the best body type to have. You get to combine the natural strength advantages that endos typically have with the muscle building ability of mesos.
Anyway, BFFM is all about freedom. The most flexible thing I've ever seen, if you allow it to be. You find your daily cals, and you set your macros based on what your body responds best to. Tom recommends as a starting point 50/30/20 (works well for mesos), but I found that 45/35/15 worked better for me cutting clean bulking, the classic 40/40/20.
You builds meals around a protein source, a starchy or simple sugar carb, and a fibrous carb. He gives you a "sample" list of foods -- but you are not limited to them -- to fill in. (18 fibrous carb sources alone, for example.) You fill in the blanks with clean, healthy foods you like and the proper amounts to hit your macros. That's the extra planning I talked about.
I ate a huge variety of protein and veg. just filling in the blanks. If I got bored, I just recalculated based on a new grouping. As Kaaud said, You do need to look to other sources for in-depth discussions of pre/post workout, supps, and the like, but as a day-to-day diet plan I can follow forever, no matter my current goals, BFFM is it.

go to the bb.com store and you can purchase game over for next to nothing. i think with shipping it was like 9 bucks.
well i must say b.spencer, your words are encouraging. in your macro's, was the macro's 45protien/35carbs/15 fat? Im 6'1 270 right now, down from 287, but have a decent amount of muscle (nothing crazy) if i could lose 50 lbs of fat by years end it would be priceless, and i mean that. if all i had was just a flat stomach, not even worried about abs but flat with a decent chest i would probably cry tears of joy (hey call me a pansy if you like, a lifelong fat kid can only dream of such a thing.) I think ill purchase bffm and go for it. there's no time like the present.
ps- how do you know what your body responds best to? im about as carb sensative as a human being can be, which maybe you were in the same boat. thats why i asked about your macro's, the 45 or 35 carbs seems awfully awfully high.
pm me if you like, thanks so much for all the info. you are a true inspiration to all the fat guys who wanna be known as something else.

BFFM changed my way of thinking of my body. Can't speak for the other, but BFFM is excellent.
(for yourboyaloi, BFFM is an e-book by Tom Venuto called Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle...... www.burnthefat.com)
