Will gaining size harm tattoos and how long til does one have to take off of weights?
so question...
In the future, I plan to get forearm sleeves (tattoos).
I realize that the skin will expand over time as much grows, but from some folks who have tattoos... is that a problem or just something only in ones imagination?
Secondly, how long did you have to take off from weights to let the ink heal?

I'd like to know this too, I'd like to get one next year (by then i'll be 17).
Maybe an armband or something. I'll get an eyebrow piercing as well.

I was thinking because alot of UFC fighters have arm bands/sleeves and I'd think you'd have to take time off or else it'd get smudged?
Wouldn't the sweat of lifting weights/movement in the area screw up the ink? (after it's done)

So for yours, did you even miss a workout?
Hmm, I would've thought sweating a lot just as getting it wet would blur the ink.

No they will not change or smudge. The ink is inserted into the second layer of your skin. What happens to the surface is of no consequence.

no worries
You do not have to worry about your tat stretching. You do not have to skip any workouts. It is a non issue

Yeah. My brother used to wonder the same thing. He is also a steady weightlifter and he's went up and down 30lbs in weight over the years and his tats still look the same. Here's a pic of him.

I don't think it has affected mine too much.
You can always get it touched up if it becomes a problem.

hmm i believe int he forearms it wont get distorted .. also upper back , lower back .. neck ..
all these areas wont be affected much .. as growth wont be so dramatic ..
but sometimes .. a very big increase in the weight can affect it .. also beware of the stretch marks , coz that kind dont soak ink like the normal skin .. so if you get them after the tatto is done .. even getting it touched up will still not look perfect ..
i am a big tattoo fan .. but work and other things kind of dont let me loose :P
I Really would like a tribal tattoo .. on my head .. maybe in the future
and diamonddelts .. your brother physique is great .. and tattoos are wicked .. cool

First of all. Wow.
2nd of all, your tattoos on forearms will limit your ability to get a good job, unless you don't mind wearing long shirts all summer.
Same with eyebrow peircing.
I'm not against tats. I have tats. But don't put them somewhere that allows potential employers to sterotype you...

A little off topic, but I would suggest not getting forearm sleeves, eyebrow piercings etc if you want to get an office job later. At least wait a few years to see what you wanna do with your life; if your line of work is okay with tattoos you can get some then.
EDIT: just saw that gecko posted the same thing....

yeah, if you live anywhere that it gets above 80 in the summer, short sleeves are the way to go. Can't do that at MOST places of work. Well, unless you want to do construction, run a tat shop, or repair cars. (not that those are bad jobs, but if you get injured and can't do physical labor...) Telemarketing?

If you're planning on gaining a good amount of weight, I'd wait. I'd like to get a half sleeve, but I'm not going to get it until I weigh at least 240. Some people's skin stretches more than others, and with something permanent (and awesome) like a tat I'd rather be safe than sorry.
