Grapefruit Preparation???
I am currently in the planning parts of the Cut Diet...gonna start here in 2 weeks after a few trips.
I have been trying to get use to grapfruit in the past weeks. I am having a horrible time with eating them though. I can't figure out for the life of me how to eat them without getting juice all over myself. They are so freaking juicy!!! If I just peel it, the meat is covered in white stuff so thick can't chew it up enough to swallow. I can't spoon it out cause my spoons just won't cut the dividing parts between the little sections. If I cut it up, I still get juice everywheres. Any suggestions? The reason I need to be able to do it without the mess is because I am gonna be taking it to school with me ALL the time, and can't afford to get my books etc covered in juices. Thanks a bundle!!!

Peel off the outside, separate it into 2 halves, at each end there is the piece that has the "veins" of the grapefruit come to the center, this section of the skin is a little thicker and sturdy, so you can peel off the white stuff, then just eat each segment.

What GrillRD said it what I usually do.
I usually pull it apart (each half) and put one half on the scale. THen add each additional segment until I get to the 6.5oz serving. Usually it comes out perfect but every so often I have to pull a segment apart.
If you are still have the "juice" issue. Just pull your grapefruit apart over a bowl of somesort. Therefore you can collect the juice and drink it.

Yeah, it really stinks that nature doesnt provide grapefruits that are 6.5 oz for each half...lol

This may sound like a simple solution, but what I do is I take a knife, and then I use it to cut away the outter skin, then I slice them like a pineapple gets sliced, then when you want to eat it, you just take pieces out, it's easy. I also like to turn it into vapor and breathe it in.

Back to the real topic lol
I just tough it out and peel the dang thing as best I can and chow down on it, including the gross white stuff. I figure it adds some fiber. Add enough Splenda, and it tastes ok.
Also I have noticed pink grapefruits peel easier than ruby reds.

Yeah, I am not too worried about eating any of it. If my teetah can chew it, down it goes. It is more a matter of the fact I will be taking a grapefruit a day to school, won't have a sink to peel it over, and can't afford to make a mess all over the classrooms/labs. I think all the hints have definately helped out though. I think that pre-prep is my best bet, like peeling or dicing the night before kinda dealio. Thanks guys.

sounds like a plan...although I wouldn't recommend dicing it cuz you'll make it bleed haha...gotta spare those lovely juices
