Why? It is just full of un-healthy fat. I wouldn't even look at that crap.

Ahh, gotcha. But why go for something with fat a protein when it is un-healthy fat? Wouldn't it be better to go with some kind of healthy fat along with the protein?
I don't really know anything about keto so I'm not really sure what would be best.

Uh, you can get low-quality meat and high amounts of trans/saturated fat at nearly any restaurant if that's what you're looking for. Don't limit yourself to KFC.
Alternately, if you care about your health/results, you could cook meals in advance and put them in Tupperware, make some protein bars or eat easily portable foods like tuna and nuts.

I read somewhere that if you remove the skin from the KFC fried chicken, you remove most of the fat.

The point I'm making is that you shouldn't be eating fast food anyway. It's more expensive and far less nutritious than stuff you could make yourself.
As for this theory of transforming fried chicken into a boneless, skinless chicken breast simply by removing the skin, it's complete BS. You'll be getting rid of a few carbs from the batter, but the meat will still have a lot of saturated and trans fat due to its poor quality/cut and the oil it absorbed while cooking. KFC is about as unhealthy as food can get, regardless of whether you're on keto or a more balanced diet. There have been a few KFC threads in the past week; do a search.

if you want to eat fast food all the time, bbing is not for you.

1 - the skin has flour on it, thats traditional "kentucy" style chicken, coat a chicken in beaten eggs, roll in flour, deep fry
2 - most KFC products are deep-fried which means they have trans fats, this is no good for any diet
3 - unsaturated fats work better for keto over saturated and trans, because saturated/trans fats are hard to break down they have a long circulating time, which means they are more likely to be re-stored as adipose (and prevent the release of more adipose because there is already enough in your blood stream!)
4 - no diet will let you eat **** and get ultra lean, unless you are a genetic freak, then thats your genetics and not a diet..... sorry

KFC is fine on the run or a cheat meal once in a while, but remember it's just processed foods and lacks quality, clean, nutrients. What is your diet like now ? Personally I would prefer subway if im out, which is slightly better, but yeah i agree it's good to have some variety.
EDIT: Andrew69, great site

Fast food is crap, no matter what diet you're on.
If you want something while you're on the run, better off grabbing a bag of seeds or nuts somewhere. Same amount of calories and a lot healthier. Or even a protein bar or something if you have to. No matter where you live you should be able to get that at some store in the same area fast food is.

"Best Bet- Chicken Breast. The big thing here -- as with all KFC chicken -- is to remove the Original Recipe skin or Extra Crispy breading. The top layer might be ifnger-lickin' good, but its fat is love-handlin' bad. Peel it off, and you shed more then 84% of the fat. The remaining bird has just 3g fat, no carbs and 29g protein." -M&F December 2004

Almonds would be a better option than peanuts anyway. They're probably the most nutritious of the nuts (yes, I know peanuts are legumes).
You might want to consider doing a balanced cutting diet (many examples of which can be found on these boards) instead of keto. Your body needs carbs to function optimally, and they're critical for fueling your workouts and ensuring that protein is used/absorbed efficiently (especially PWO). Keto isn't sustainable/ideal in the long term, and other, more complete diets can be just as effective at helping you lose fat.

at the moment i really want to try keto, it seems to good to be true eating fat to burn fat hopefully i can lean out more.... the more i read about keto in the keto forums the more i want to try it. another reason i want to do it is so i can help some of my overweight/chubby friends lose weight while eating all the things they want to eat!
