Florida Gators Tim Tebow - Miracle Baby
Good story
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/colle...ddcouple_N.htm
JACKSONVILLE -- When the Tebow family moved from Jacksonville to the Philippines in 1985 to start a mission and an orphanage, they already had four children. Before Pam Tebow became pregnant with her fifth child, Tim, she became ill with amoebic dysentery and was briefly in a coma. Medication controlled the infection, but when she sensed she might be pregnant she stopped taking it. Once pregnant, there were problems. The placenta didn't attach, likely because of the medication.
"I was advised to have an abortion," she says. "The doctors said he was a mass of fetal tissue and not a baby. But I had been pregnant four times, and I knew I was pregnant."
In search of better medical care, the family moved to Manila, the country's capital, where Tim was born in 1987.
"Timmy is a miracle baby. He was malnourished at the beginning, but he's made up for it," Pam Tebow says with a laugh about her 6-3, 235-pound son.
"After such a crazy pregnancy, we feel that God has a special plan for him."

Hmmmm....we'll have to wait and see.
Flynn has been getting great reviews while Tebow's (even to my surprise - figure they'd kiss his ass) has been mediocre by most at best (except for Urban - who thinks his team has no fauts).
Plus, UF lost a HUGE part of their defense and have a lot of new players. Their running game as usual is average and they are left with basically a good receiving unit. I've seen lot of analysts listing them at 7-5 for the season. SEC East is by far the hardest in the nation. LSU is in the SEC West, but I think will have no problem with UF this year. As long as they don't give up any stupid losses to teams they shouldn't be losing to like they've done the last 2 years.

Not sure where you are reading the mediocre reviews on Tebow, he's looked great in practice. LOL @ 7-5. I like it. Our boys (no homo) love the bulletin board material.

7-5 is very likely.
Their D, which was the strongest part of their whole team last year, is now cut in half and replaced by newcomers. They lost 9 starters. Tebow's reviews, from what I've read, are mixed.
They have been predicted to lose to LSU, Georgia and Tennessee for sure. And then you have the maybes of FSU, Kentucky (which will actually have a good team this year), and South Carolina - who is looking strong and Spurrier can out-coach Meyer.
Funny stat about Tennessee is that if they don't have a week off before playing UF (which they normally do), they beat UF. This year, they play 2 tough games (starting with Cal, then Southern Miss) then go to the Swamp. UF starts with Western Kentucky and Troy.
I don't know about 5 losses, but 3 are definite to me.

Big deal? I had heart failure before I was even born, and somehow I lived.
You don't see me strapping up in Notre Dame blue and gold as the quarterback being hailed as the next best thing since sliced bread.

He is a good quaterback, but will he be able to take hits all game long all season long in the SEC? I doubt it, I think he is going to be a marked man, and the SEC defense will let him know where he sits.

Yeah, he is.
He's getting replace by Michael Vick since they heard he could handle the Dawgs better.

I could understand us losing to LSU, but UGA? 15/17 ring a bell? We don't lose to them. South Carolina either. I'll admit Kentucky scares me. Andre Woodson is a beast. While we start with W. Kentucky, you know that was due to UCF dropping of our schedule at the last second, leaving us to scramble and pick up another team.
Realistically, I could see us losing 2 or 3.
Who's your team?

if anyone can take a hit it should be him, he's big as hell-i'm just interested to see how he transitions into a full time qb instead of a "3d down run a qb draw" guy

Since their running game isn't too stellar, they are going to rely on trick plays as usual by Meyer. I can't see Tebow running the ball like he did last year - at least not straight up the gut. FSU finally saw what was happening and their linebackers almost snapped his neck in half a few times.

I agree with 2 or 3 losses at the most as well. Tennessee could even be a bit sketchy this year.
I'm an FSU grad....so until our QB's get their head out of their asses (hopefully Fischer will help), I can't talk too much.

I don't know the current status on our QBs. He's good and very exiting, he just needs to control the height of his passes more. It's kind of a shame he went FSU where the QB position is so competitive. He could have gone lesewhere and been a definite starter.

Better not to LSU, I know too many LSU fans..........and i'm sure a heavy bet will be placed on that game.
Could be a close one though, ala South Carolina last year........

Tennessee is an unknown right now. they've lost 11 starters from last years team and their starting running back has been suspended indefinately. we'll find out soon enough.
