They are offically IMO the single best band OUT THERE RIGHT NOW. 10,000 Days is F**KING AMAZING ... & their old stuff NEVER gets old.
Maynard actually knows how to sing unlike 90% of the Metal bands out there. He can sing softly, at a normal tone, and "yell" without actually yelling like a retard (that's you, Hatebreed). Danny Carey has got chops from all over. He is a F**KING GREAT drummer. He plays so heavily without sounding basic and old (that's you, Linkin Park). Justin Chancellor is quite the talent when it comes to the Bass. He has got the lowest and most muddy sound EVER ... & it sounds so good with their unique style of music. Adam Jones is last but not least ... I just want to say that if you go listen to the start of "Jambi" off of 10,000 Days, you will be impressed. It might not be THE SINGLE HARDEST THING TO PLAY that's ever been recorded, but I'm blown away by the stuff that they write. I'm not sure how much Adam Jones writes, but he sure plays like he means it ...
My favorite tracks by Tool are (there is no order here):
Intolerance (this song is just really good)
Prison Sex (the song is better than the title suggests ...

)
Sober (the BASS here is awesome & so is the song as a whole)
Stinkfist (at times, this is my favorite song by them)
46 & 02 (another good one ... )
AEnema (the spelling might be messed up on this one ...

)
The Grudge (good all around)
Schism (great BASS and VOCALS)
Parabola (good all around)
Vicarious (the middle of this song is so sweet)
Jambi (the GUITAR in this song is so awesome)
The Pot (the BASS in this song is so awesome)
I know that these guys take time to write good and interesting lyrics, but I am more of a pure music guy when it comes to what bands I like. Tool has got some of the best MUSIC out there.
Any opinions!?!?! All fans are welcome to post (obviously), and I guess the haters can get in here, too ... I know that SOMEBODY will talk some serious crap about Tool ... I don't care ... I will ALWAYS think that they're the greatest band I've ever listened to, and I've listened to a lot ...
