When you do bent over bb rows do you feel it in your traps

Today was my first day performing Bent over barbell rows and I got a huge burn in my traps and the back of my shoulders. I felt it a little bit in my lats. Was it just my form or do they really hit the traps and rear delts?

You should feel it more in the middle of your back. Pull the weight up with your lats, not your arms, and make sure you stay bent over throughout the entire exercise. Jerking the weight up and using your arms to much will make the exercise more like an upright row than a bentover row, making you feel it in your traps/rear delts.

depending on grip, and where you are rowing to (as well as the angle of your back) rows will hit your traps and posterier deltoids....

this will occur if you are using too much weight as you will have to pull with more muscles then the ones you want to focus on...

focus on your mind-->muscle connection and use lighter weight...

also, a supponated grip (palms facing up) may help

The traps help stabilize the shoulder girdle when you row, they should be getting worked. You shouldn't be full-out shrugging though.

Rear delts yeah, traps not so much. I ditto the palms facing up grip it really moves the focus from my rhomboids to my lats.
