On the rear delt work, your upper arm and elbow ideally should be in line with the top of your shoulder, whereas for bent row work, your elbow will be pointing backward. Keep in mind the more flared the elbows, the more you're working your midback (rhomboids, etc.); the closer your elbows are to the sides of your torso, the mroe you're working your lats (when I say lats, I mean specifically, the latissimus dorsi, or sides of your back....some people just say "lats" for everything and it pisses me off. :-P )
