Anyone have experience with computers/computer repair stores(ie PC club)
Alright, basically I bought this computer off ebay(an example of the exact computer but not the actual item.
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Acer-Aspire-...QQcmdZViewItem
I figured since I was fairly educated on computers(dont laugh) I could fix any problems the computer would have if any arose since buying on ebay isnt smart. But the deal was pretty good so I figured what the hell, might as well save 200-250 bucks from buying it from best buy and bought it off ebay. First day, runs great everything smooth, hated vista but what can you do? Woke up next morning, turned it on and it had a fatal error or something. Said something about failed hardware and needed a cd to reboot or something. I didnt have time to make recovery CD's yet so I was screwed. Spent the whole day finding a pirated version of windows XP, downloading the correct drivers for the computer from all these different websites across the world, and fixed it after like 5-6 hours. Next day it runs fine. Another day passes and I turn on the computer, screen flickers off and restarts by itself then a loud BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP, BEEEEEEEEEP starts up, and repeats as long as its on. Nothing shows up on the screen.
I'm ****ing pissed at this point because I believe that the computer was possibly mis handled whilst shipped or came with a faulty motherboard.
1) The seller didnt say anything about returns, so I assume he will just ignore my emails(though he is basically 100% feedback, should I bother emailing him?)
2) The computer is brand new, comes with a 1-yr Acer warranty BUT it says I need proof of purchase(location/date and im guessing it means receipt). Nothing of that sort came with it, so thats out the window.
3) I was thinking of sending it into either the Acer parts and service program without a warranty(which would cost me a ****load probably and take months). or go to a reputable computer parts store and ask them to repair it for me(which could possibly cost me an assload as well).
Any ideas?
Cliffs:
-Computer breaks down the day after I buy it off ebay
-I go crazy, spend hours fixing it and celebrate only to discover 2 days later it breaks again
-I break down in tears and ask why me God, why me?

It seems like you have a hardware problem, most likely due to one of the components inside the system coming loose. If I were you I'd open it and try to see what is up.
Ask the seller if he has had this problem before. If nothing, then try to fix it yourself.
Having a pro fix this computer would completely destroy the purpose of saving money by buying it, I am against it.

you do know that this problem can be anything, it can be major or minor; and we probably can't help you because a computer is too complex to fix without having it in front of you to check. I'd check the little things... like hardware incompatibility... it's happened to me before, if one part is incompatible your computer may work the first time and then not work the next times its rebooted.
Check to see if all the hardware is the original that the pc is designed to have, and has not been switched, and if anything has been added.
USB hardware usually causes the most problems. I had problems with my pc where sometimes it wouldn't boot, and no matter how many times I formatted, it would not work. Later, I found that when I boot the computer with my usb stick connected, 90% of the time it'll freeze... but if my computer is already booted and i connect the usb stick, there are no problems.

Aw **** are you serious? I wasnt there for the first time it broke but I assume it was because of something like that. The 2nd time it broke, I put in a new mouse right before it. Then when it restarted, it started making that noise.

I don't know about the noise, but usually a little compatibility issue like that can cause the computer to freeze.

Well actually if you get something like Everest or some other utility type tool, you can copy and paste the hardware and software inside your system, thus making it easier for us to analyze.
