Wrist pain from concentration curls

About two weeks ago I increased the dumbbell weight by just 5 pounds and began experiencing slight pain in my wrist during and after the exercise. I had 4 bicep-days after that, and during each it was harder and harder for me to perform concentratuon curls. Today, I couldn't even complete a single set. What happened? I feel as if all the pressure is exerted on my wrist instead of the upper arm... I tried doing barbell curls but failed at that too.

Sometimes I notice that when I am doing db curls I will all of the sudden be pulling with my hand and wrist instead of trying to pull through my bicep. It might be hard to imagine what I am saying but first of all make sure you are pulling through with your biceps. Also, maybe gloves with wrist straps might help with this matter. Research about seeing if the gloves might help a little bit though. I don't use gloves and I am just throwing that out their. Good Luck Man!

Sometimes ez bars help with this problem. I know some guys having problems in their wrists while doing barbell curls. It is sometimes a problem of flexibility, so with the ez bar, you can pronate your hands a little and often the pain is not there anymore. One possibility, do not need to be the coclussion in your particular cause. Keep curling

i'd say really to watch it. I've injured my wrist before by forcing my way through a set of ez bar curls. i've switched to BB curls cus it forces me to concentrate on keeping my wrist straight. many times when curling (usually last couple of reps) your wrist will want to curl forward in order help ure bicep. don't let it. keep it straight and concentrate on the bicep doing the work. but i implore you to watch your wrist. once injured it could take a while to heal or at least for the pain to go away. i would suggest handwraps or any type of wrist support. gloves with wrist support works wonders.
