If its maltodextrin its maltodextrin regardless of what its used for its like 99% carb so depending on how many grams of carbs you will use it will last X amount of time. If its 100% maltodextrin powder have no fear in buying it.
Do you really expect a brewing site to differentiate between a complex carb and a sugar?
I buy glucose powder (same as dextrose) from a brewing company obviously you don't get a scoop or a handy container but its definitely a good way to go.
