I did buy some "Irish Oats" that were rolled last week. I thought that they were going to be steel cut, but they were not. I believe they are McCanns or something like that. They had them in a box(the rolled, that said cut on the price sticker) or in a can that actually said steel cut oats. It said steel cut on the price shelf but they were ground or rolled. Still good but pist it wasn't cut. I am sure that the oats in the can were steel cut.
Like I said. And like Mr. Selfdestruct said. Irish oats are not strickly steel cut, nor are scottish oats. He mentioned that he like the scottish oats over steel cut because they are creamier.
Spshond, look around they usually have a few different brands. The first kind that I bought were at a health food store, they were organic and still not too expensive. $3.60+, I found a bag at a different store for just over $3. The McCanns in the can around here in Indiana is just over $5. So just look around the bigger grociery stores and you can find it for a lot cheaper. It is such a nice change from oatmeal.
