Walden Farms Review
Alright, I've seen a lot of questions about the taste/quality/consistency of Walden Farms calorie free products lately and as I've been using them for nearly a year I figured I would offer some insight. Obviously this is all opinion since you cannot quantify such things, but I used to be a fat kid so I must say I know a bit about what unhealthy stuff tastes like compared to the wonders of Walden Farms. So, here's the scoop.
The chocolate syrup is amazing, tastes as good as any "REAL" chocolate syrup. It is thick, strong, and delicious.
The pancake syrup does not taste as good as the Davinci in my opinion but is slightly thicker and much more like "real" pancake syrup in consistency.
The Chocolate dip comes in a jar like the jams, tastes exactly like the syrup, but is quite a bit thicker and good for dunking chunks of apple and such.
Marshmellow dip is similar to full fat/calorie brands of marshmellow dip and also tastes amazing.
The jellys are kind of hit or miss in my opinion. While I found the apple butter, orange marmalade, and strawberry to be GREAT.......I thought the grape and blueberry tasted more like weak jello. The consistency is just like that of real jelly. The only problem with the jellys overall is that the dye is extremely potent and will actually stain your countertop if it is white.....I had to use comet and an SOS pad to get that **** out.......can't imagine what it would do to clothes.
The salad dressings are pretty good as a whole, I haven't tried them all but regularly purchase the Italian with Sundried Tomato and Oriental. The Ranch was pretty bad as was the Ceasar and the normal Italian and Rasberry Vinagrette were Okay.
All 3 BBQ sauces are phenomenal, especially the Hickory.
The Ketchup, Pasta Sauce, and Alfredo Sauce are TERRIBLE. The Scampi is very good if you like Garlic.

i agree - everything i have had from them has been excellent, except for the salad dressings. Im the type of person that will eat almost anything, but the salad dressings were unedible.

Thanks for the review.
I tried the Pasta Sauce and Alfredo Sauce last year and agree that there are horrible.
I just bought the Scampi Sauce the other day and find it to be pretty good.

I'm with you 100% on both of these reviews. And my two scents on the Walden Farms products in addition to involve the Dressings:
Buttermilk Ranch is very thick, creamy, and most concise taste in comparison to that of real ranch dressing. It's wonderful stuff.
The Bacon Ranch however was not quite as good. It was still thick, but somehow the bacon and ranch flavors offset one another and tastes really awkward. I will not be purchasing that again.

I love the Chocolate Syrup. I use it in the evening in my cottage cheese and in the morning in my coffee to make a mocha.
I agree with some of the other posters that the salad dressings border on unedible. The Basalmic is really gross, like a jellyfied (I know this is a fake word) vinegar.

Oh wow, I completely forgot about the balsamic.......yeah, that **** is awful. Worse than the ketchup........which is saying a lot.

I wish they syrup came in bigger bottles, ordering it online is not cheap thats for sure. The only downfall of the dressings is the sodium if you are on low sodium type diet. I would not worry about it though for the most part.

I'm suprised you liked the BBQ sauce , i thought it tasted like shoe leather , and im not talking about new shoe leather ,but hey like you said its all about opinion
i definetly like the dressing , the ranch wasnt the greatest but the bacon ranch is simply awesome and actually taste better to me than any other dressing on the market
i have never tried the katsup but after i seeing the look on my daughters face after she tried it i figured i wasnt missing much
i thought the chocolate dip was great it had a weird aftertaste at 1st , but man when i mixed it with a little natty PB and a cup of oats it was like eating a reese cup
the one thing i was the most impressed with and i strongly recommend you try this if you havn't already is the scampi sauce , its awesome to sautee shrimp in and great over Fresh Green beans , broccoli or what ever you would normally use melted butter for the stuff is great
i didnt order any of the chocolate syrup i was concerned it migh be kinda watery (like the katsup) but since its thick i may just go ahead and try it out
also not sure how many of you eat Jello but if you mix the marshmellow dip and jello into a dessert cup its pretty good
I live in VA where we have Farm Fresh Grocery stores , they carry Walden Farms dressings and the dips but not the other stuff , its not on the shelves with the other dressings they stock it right above the bagged salad mixes

just check your grocery stores and places that have low carb sections. recently i found out that a grocery store near me carries the salad dressings, and chocolate and marshmellow dips. they were in the salad and fruit section, but ive seen them in low carb dry food sections.

I saw a couple at Zellers during my last trip to Windsor. Only the salad dressings.

Wow, I found the chocolate syrup at 7-11 of all places.
I haven't had it on anything yet but I tasted a little bit of it and it tastes so good, better than the davinci because it is much thicker.

ive had the twin's brown sugar, and personally i didnt really like it too much. it was good in sauerkraut, but mixed with other foods i thought it gave off a bitter taste.

Yes, it's the third ingredient in.
Yes to this as well. Twins Brown Sugar doesn't taste close enough by any means to brown sugar for me. I won't consider getting it again.

Flavoring and vegetable gums that give it volume. Personally, I find it rather disturbing.

It is true, this glorious treat is made of pure mystic magic. It is made in the deep amizons of falahugee. Where the elders work tirelessly on concoctions to make a healthy lifestyle that much easier.
Walden Farms Pancake Syrup = Owns FYI
