What fish for the first time fish eater?
As far as i can remember I've hated fish all of my life. That fishy smell just threw me off until today! I tried some tilapia today that wasn't fishy at all. It tasted morel like chicken than anything else.
Are there other kinds of fish youd recommend to someone that dont like that fishy taste?
I also tried tuna today, and it was horrible. LOL. Im gonna have to try building a tolerance over time for that one.

I would say flounder. Its a thin peice of fish and its pretty good. Salmon on the other hand is a thicker peice with more of a fishy taste (which I was trying to get away from).

All good suggestions so far . . .
Here's some more that IMO r decidedly non-fishy . . .
Salt Water Species:
Swordfish steak
Halibut steak
Sea Bass steak
Mahi Mahi steak
Cod fillet
Orange Roughy fillet
Haddock fillet
Fresh Water Species:
Tilapia fillet
Bluegill fillet
Trout fillet
Large-mouth Bass fillet

Seriously, I've begun with Tilapia and went from stronger fish taster after. But any white fish should be good. Tilapia FTW :P

tilapia is good for people who really don't like the fishy taste. you want to stick with white fish ie haddock, cod, sole or my personal favorite scallops

x2, if you're not into the fishy taste, tilapia, mahi mahi, and all the really white flaky fish are the best place to start.

I think tuna smells bit too much. for first time fish eater, I would recommend salmon. it's more steak-ish/beef-like than tuna.

I love swordfish and mahi mahi, but they are a little expensive. Haddock, cod, salmon are good too.

anything.
most important part is that it's fresh, or it'll taste more "fishy"

I love all fish and have to say eel is one of the best tasting. It's unfortunate that I only tried it for the first time about 3 years ago.
