Back sore from punching the air?
Okay, I didn't go the gym this past weekend and yesterday, just for fun, I was like pretending to shadow box, but I got really into it and did it for like 15 minutes I guess. But today, since I woke up my back has been aching!! Seriously, I was wondering the whole day why it was sore. At first, I thought it was like my bed and maybe I slept weird on it, but then just now, I remember I was punching the air yesterday. Could THAT be the reason why my back is sore? (yes pathetic)

you probably just overstretched your back muscles from punching for so long.
And for what to eat, probably nothing, if you really want to, something light in calories and whatnot. Or go get a casein protein, that'll take 8 hrs for your body to digest.

You NEED calories before bed. You're body is starving all night. Keep it to something slow digesting, e.g. cottage cheese.

Peanut butter is fine. I usually get a little flax seed oil and some sort of slow digesting protein in. Hit up the grocery store sometime, cottage cheese is cheap.

What I usually eat before bed is 3 hard-boiled egg whites, 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and two 16 oz cups of skim milk. Lots of protein (casein), way little fat.
And I beat the air's as$! lol

I'm not sure what to say here. I guess first stop punching. Second get some rest and see what happens.

Your an idiot. It is one of the main training methods boxers use. Can be used for cardio if somebody wants too.

well back to the original topic, about the air kicking his ass. My theory is this, u ever heard of one of newtons laws, 'for every reaction there must be an equal but opposite reaction' or something like that? Simply to apply it to your case, your throwing punches with 'x' amount of force and now since ur not hitting anything ur body is actually being strained with that same amount of force to stop that punch.

Yup, boxers mostly shadow box as a form of cardio. They're not standing there throwing haymakers at the air. They'll just lightly toss a punch out there while keeping their feet moving to train the muscles to keep moving for prolonged periods. I'm guessing you just swung at that air a little too hard which overstretched the muscles in your back when your arm fully extended.
As for what to eat before bed, I'm on the chicken breast and cottage cheese program.
