brushing off a girl that likes you for her best friend instead

yeah so i was in this situation while back, this one girl was allover me,i talked to her,soaked it in nd all that,shed be callin my crib nd **** too,chasing me after school,leavng me notes,i didnt really have any romantic feelings for her,she was cute though,very nice,i was pressured to ask her out,but had no desire to further anything,at the same time i was pursuing her best friend who i was drooling over basically,got her digits,called her to see wassup,said she had homework (haha prolly a lie),we talked at school and dances nd ****,didnt wanna be more then friends. none of the girls were loose so no one-time things,not that i was looking for one.

started talking again last summer,thinks im cute,no longer intrested in me though,doesnt bother either of us. i think her friend rejected me cuz i kinda rejected her friend.

I hate this scenario.

I remember in high school, this really below average girl 3-4/10 had this bizzare obsession with me. Well it just so happens that she was in with the popular crowd, and I was pretty much labeled as off limits due to her obsession, so basically all the hot, pretty, popular girls wouldn't even think of becoming anything more than friends with me due to that. Also, anyone who came on to me was socially harassed by the popular crowd, and when the popular crowd does something everyone follows.

I remember this hot chick and I were flirting on the bus one day and this girl and her friends came in and started harassing her right effing in front of me. I had to step in and give them a talk down.

Can't say that it doesn't irritate me, even now.
