Guy in my gym, problem just waiting to happen

For the last three weeks there has been a guy in my gym, who at first I thought was there for one day, but he is still there.

This guy is straight from prison, he works out in jeans drop down to his butt, showing his underwear, has a wife beater straight up prison tats all over. OK that is not the problem I couldn't care less how someone dresses or how many tats they have, just wanted to give a description of the guy.

Here is the problem, he has no gym etiquette, as a matter of fact he is bullying his way around. Aside from the fact that he is walking around the gym constantly cursing to himself out loud I witness him do several things in front of me,

Two guys were benching, in the middle of their set he just jumps in and does his reps, then lays on the bench with his arms crossed resting then does another set and walks away. The two guys just stand there and wait for this jackass to do his set.


This guy was doing db curls he put them down, he walks right up to the guy, now the db were by his feet, looks at the guy, actually stares at him (with a dirty look mind you) picks up the db walks about 5 feet away from the guy and does HIS curls with the weight and then puts them down right were HE was standing. The guy looked at him and just shook his head and went and got his DB's

I know this guy is going to do it to the wrong guy in the gym and **** is going to break out.

I am wondering if the managers are not seeing this or are they just ignoring it or are afraid to say something to the guy, no doubt this kid is jacked and looks very intimidating.

a 40lb dumbell on top of your skull will fix that, I wish I was there in your gym when he does that

remember, just when you think you are the toughest and meanest, there is some fuker out there that is crazier than you

You could descretely and politely pull him aside and explain gym etiquette while using the examples you have witnessed referencing the amount of disrespect he is showing to not just those individuals but the entire gym. If he does not respond in an appropriate way then tell him you were just trying to save him from a blanket party because you had heard some talk that he was getting measured.

No, you see, this is the crap BH is trying to avoid. You are encouraging him to look for more trouble than is necessary.

Speak to management, or take the guy aside and ask WTF? But you don't need to go for whatever "Eastern European Justice" may be.
This is Eastern United States, and the police do NOT stand for crap like that.
I don;t know about the Bosnian police, but here, you go to jail for that-BH has a family that I'm sure he'd rather be with than "Bubba" in the showers at Rikers.

Go back to the young guns area and tell them to go kick ass the Eastern European way. This isn't the place for it.

The managers and the gym owner should take care of that crap. Some of the old gyms I use to go to,that act would have lasted all of about 10mins,before one of the gym rats would of called his ass outside.

we had a guy come to our gym a few years ago like that - we asked him if he wanted to train with us - he said yes - he did work with us for about the next year until he went back to the can.

Man and I get annoyed with my 3 year old and her beagle getting in my way! I would ignore him, someone else will take care of him. Unless he confronts you, just wait and he will be back in jail sooner rather than later. If he acts like that in the gym imagine him at a club.

I would guess the gym management is used to this and they will know what to do. What are you paying the gym for? If that dosen't work then do what you want. What Are TATS?

IMO, confronting him would most likely end in a confrontation you don't need -and put you in the role of the agressor, not good for you if the police get involved (the gym is a public place).
Talk with the management and talk with the people he is pushing in on and encourage them to complain as well. Often guys like that will get angry and leave if they are confronted with their bad behavior from someone in authority (i.e. a manager who can ask them to leave the gym or void their membership).

Just don't go starting a fight with him. It's more likely that you will end up looking bad.

I am not the kind of person who will "tell" management, no disrespect to anyone here who suggested that, it is just not me.

If management wants to intervene great, but if they don't I know for sure this guy is in for a rude awakening when he tries this BS with some of the regulars in the gym.

The best I know I am going to do is change the time I go to the gym if every time I go I see him there, either one hour earlier or later.

I am definitely not the one to tolerate that kind of BS towards me.

They decided to hang 45's on the crossover. I just went up to them and said, "If you do anything else unsafe or that disturbs the rest of the customers you will have to leave". They behaved themselves. It's up to the gym to create a safe environment for their clients, it's not the customers responsibility.
