i used to hear every 8-12 weeks, take a week off...but then i started hearing that you should only take off when you feel you need it, which i agree with. those couple times that i took a week off after 12 weeks, i didn't feel any better...in fact i felt worse on my first day back; so from now on, i will only take off when my body tells me to.

Everyone is different, but 8 weeks on 1 week off is generally a good lifting cycle.
