FEEL THE BURN BABY!!! Day 1 GVT Observations

I've been doing Rippetoe for a while and I've really liked it. However, I've been wanting to give German Volume Training a try so I've planned to work in a 6-week period of GVT for a change of pace. My plan is to head back to Rippetoe after 6 weeks of GVT, unless of course I gain 10 Lbs of muscle and some strength to go with it (I'm not holding my breath).
I've pretty much taken the beginner/intermediate program Poliquin wrote about here as is, though I've switched out a few exercises. The bottom line is that, aside from a few exercises, the program is straight from his article.
Tonight was day 1 of GVT, so chest and back. I've got to say that I've never felt my chest as pumped as I did tonight. I really thought my muscles were going to rip through my skin. Not much going on in the back but I underestimated the weight (I'm doing DB rows for my 10x10 back exercise).
This is certainly not a recommendation of GVT, just some initial observations after 1 workout. If I'm up to it, I'll post in 6-8 weeks with some sort of summary or something.
