Well IMO for just poweders I like those skinny handheld blenders, thier quick and easy to clean as well as doing a great job mixing it up evenly. They even work well with yogurt and lighter substances.
If your going to do any serious shakes with oats, pb or ice cream go with the good old fashioned blender.
Honestly, for my protein shakes and creatine I use that little FIT mixer bb.com gives out as a free gift when you order over $75. Its actually kind of feeble in design but it mixes well. My suggestion if you get it is to go insie and superglue the crap out of the mixing motor, it likes to break off from its supports. Make sure not to superglue the case shut though, it might need to be fixed. I've limped mine along for months now and it cost me nothing but some AA batteries.

When I'm at home I use a blender. When I'm out and on the go I just use my blender bottle.

I'm kinda lazy post-workout time and hate washing the blender all the time so I just use the shaker bottle most of the time, very easy to clean up and it works good on most things. It also depends on what I'm having, if I have to make a weight gainer shake or something anytime then I'll usually be forced to use the blender

I usually use a shaker but I ordered a smoothie maker/blender and it will be here in a couple of days and I'll begin to use that.

Yep. I got one for X-Mas, but just started using it. If I would have known it was that easy to mix and clean I would have got it out a long time ago.

Braun handheld stick mixer, can mix 3 heaping scoops of whey and ground oats, 10g of creatine and 2 cups of milk in under a minute, with half the cleaning time of a conventional blender.
