lesson learned
I started getting frustrated in early July because my "real" life was getting in the way of my training. I kept having one physically challenging day after another and it was keeping me from my workout. I was either too sore, too tired or it was too late...I wasn't eating my five squares, sleeping my eights etc.
Various chores have had me swinging a hammer in the sun all day, or climbing ladders, or piling bricks into a wheelbarrel, mixing concrete etc.. I kept thinking of Rocky 4 where Drago is in his airconditioned gym with his high-tech gym equip and Rocky is running knee deep in snow up the side of a mountain, or lifting his buddies in the horse cart and chopping wood! (hell, I even grew the beard)!
As it turns out it has been the best plateau breaker I could have ever had. I got back to a more normal gym/food/sleep routine this week and I feel leaner and more focused and disciplined than I have in a long while.
Lesson: Mix it up every now and then. It was great to feel the strength that I have added to my frame get used. No real question here, just saying it feels nice to celebrate the fruits of this lifestyle in the "real world".

Whats up Grey where the hell you been???
Yo functional strength (strength you use in real life situation like what you were doing) is so much more beneficial than any working routine alone.

It's a difficult market (at least here in the Northeast). Keep the faith, it'll turn around. I'd really love to see you get out of there.

Well, it's off topic, but as I have mentioned before. I have been diagnosed with very low levels of testosterone and use HRT under a doctors supervision to restore them to healthy levels. There have been many spirited conversations about what qualifies as Steroids vs. HRT so I'll try not to open that can of worms up again.

Well you look fantastic really, and at least you are honest about it. Not like some others here to claim they can eat what they want and still gain lean muscle etc... when its obvious they are using.

Real life gets in the way
x2 dude!!! Got all screwed up last week with other employees being injured or quitting. Missed two days lifting and felt like @ss. But I worked hard Friday and recovered over the weekend and added weight to my routine across the board. I upped all my weights 10 Lb on the 1st set and 10lb on the 2nd. Feel awesome, but expect a little lactic soreness by Wed. I still lift kinda light since im still relatively new. Kinda working up to my muscle failuire weight, but I'm making progress nonetheless. Read somewhere that a short break will help plateaus and improve intensity. Hope so. otherwise I just missed two opportunities to train. That Sucks. Hope life gives ya a little repreive since i dont expect to get one for 4-6 weeks. Good Luck!!!
