This took some guts to post up but here goes.
For the longest time I had a condition known as Gynecomastia. I'm sure most of you guys know what it is. I've posted on the forum before asking how to possibly sculpt the flab underneath my underarms. Of course I can't spot reduce so I went at a workout routine. But that was after I got my surgery which was April 26th of this year. After a month of recovery I returned to the gym determined to get slimmer and in shape. It's a tough road as most of you all I'm sure probably know but I'm getting there.
The following pictures are posted of a progression. The first picture was when I had Gynecomastia and it was pre surgery. I know there are some people out there that poke fun of guys who have this condition but trust me it sucks. It really puts a person into depression and makes them feel like crap when they're poked fun of because of this..whether it's a hormonal imbalance or steroids I know how it feels.
But again I chose to post these pics to show people even on this board who may suffer from the same thing that they can come away from it. Though months after surgery I am unsure whether or not the gyne is coming back or if it's muscle. There have been cases where it would come back within months to what it was before due to hormones. Let me know what you guys think? Does my chest look normal?
First pic is here (before surgery)April 20th

Here is the most recent which is July 28th a week after being calculated as being 12.9 percent body fat. I had just eaten so my stomach is a little crazy.

Yeah I may have to wax for the poses but I'm gettin there as far as leaning out and tryin to put on some muscle.
How does my chest look? I'm very conscious about it and I tend to hunch over a little bit because I'm afraid it's coming back. What do you guys think?

Hey man, stay motivated, I can understand how that took balls to post. Now comes the hard part, day in and day out, get to the gym and improve your body and your life. I'm sure you can do it, just keep reminding yourself with progress pictures like these. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm going to Vegas tomorrow and I want to go into the swimming pool for the first time since I was 10 years old believe it or not. Do you guys think I should feel embarassed of my chest if you were me would you go out w/o your shirt? I'm really hoping that I don't get the stare down at people thinking "oh this guys chest is just a little big...muscle maybe or boobs?" What do yall think? Oh yeah my target BF is projected at 8 percent. I would honestly like to get cut. One of the hard things right now is I was also 230 pounds and my stomach was huge. I stuffed myself all the time w/ bad foods and perhaps it had caused my stomach to increase in size as well as my gut region. When I bend over it sags a bit. I've noticed that it's going down ALOT now since my new transformation but it's still there. I still believe that i'm going to have to tighten up my ab area a bit more and continue to eat lighter meals more meals a day so that my stomach and gut may be able to go back to a smaller size. It sure takes a long time.
But the motivation I had to start this routine to get fit and cut believe it or not and some may laugh was the movie 300. Ever since I saw that I just went nuts and thought to myself.."well im young I might as well try it once in my life to get like that to see what my body potential is." Well I'm still on the road and I would like to stay here and continue to eat right and maintain a healthy life. It's not only for appearance as some think but it's about health too. I would like to be more mobile and live longer. Thanks again.

Hey Anacondabug!! There is a noticeable difference between the first and last photo, so that's a good thing. I'm not an expert, but I think what you're seeing, is excess bodyfat that needs to be shed, and not signs of the gynecomastia returning. Don't feel uncomfortable about sharing these photos. It's nothing you caused, and it could have effected anyone. Also, I'm sure you've helped someone who may have been hesitate to ask themselves. Did you ever find out the cause for your gynecomastia, just to make sure there aren't any other inbalances going on. Hormones can be a pain at times.

I don't know about that. I went to Golds and spoke to a personal trainer who put me on the scale w/ my bare feet. Though he told me the calipers we're a bit more accurate he said it was fine. Perhaps I have even more then.

I didn't really find out what the causes of the gynecomastia. Though my conscious thinking that I have it coming back may have me see an Endocrinologist whom will take a look at the hormone levels. Perhaps there maybe medication but again I'm going to wait it out about a year or so depending if I see dramatic symptoms of gyne coming back.
Yeah I like to help people who have this problem out and I have talked to some of my friends whom have been embarassed to talk about it talk to me. I like to help people and I for one know that theres alot of teasing that goes on among people whom have this. I would like to again see the Endocrinologist to check up on my hormones to see if they're still out of wack.

On another note perhaps most of what I have is excess loose skin that may just be hanging around and it's not fat?

I think it would be a good idea to re-test maybe every six months just to stay on top of things. Hopefully you won't have to worry about it anymore.

I had the same surgery and I've been very happy with my results. My gyno was a result of being an idiot and taking andro when I was about 15 years old with no pct. It was legal at the time and I figured it must be safe since I bought it in a health food store.
You're definitely more like 17-18% bodyfat right now, but that's no big deal. You have the rest of your life to work on losing it and then gaining some muscle.
So was your chest sore as hell for the few week or so? God knows mine was. Do you have spots on your chest that feel like knotted tissue? I guess that's scar tissue from the lipo, but it'll go away in time.
Oh, also...the gyno won't come back. I had to quit working out for the surgery and recovery which then led me to ballooning up to around 24% bodyfat (I was about 14% the day of the surgery) and now I'm back down to 13% or so and going for a clean bulk. The gyno never returned although I was very paranoid at first. My only complaint is that for the first 6 months or so my nipples looked a little droopy and seemed to almost sink in too much. My body just had to readjust though and everything looks great now.
Oh, copy and paste the picture in my sig to see what 13-14% bodyfat looks like. I don't know how to make the stupid picture work as a link. Oh, and darn. I forgot that was the picture I was trying to use as an avatar. I'll try to put up a new picture that's larger.
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v3...t=ab06f2d4.jpg
I don't really like this picture, but that's about 14% bodyfat. You can certainly get there, but I think you're currently a bit higher.

Thanks. Yes my chest was sore as hell. Perhaps I do need to continue to burn off this fat and keep building up that lean muscle. The machine I stood on was probably wrong or inaccurate.

It does takes guts, and props to you for having the strength to post this. Good luck with your workouts and stay dedicated. Fitness/Bodybuilding/Healthy lifestyle isnt a "diet" its a lifetime journey of self-discovery and personal achievement, it takes time and sometimes seems almost impossible, but trust me, in the end once your there, youll be happy you reached it. Theres nothing as satisfying in life than knowing that you achieved something you set your mind to.
