Universal Nutrition ANIMAL PUMP 60 Day Review.
Universal Nutrition ANIMAL PUMP 60 Day Review.
Allow me to start off by saying that I am neither biased nor preferential towards any one manufacturer/company. I am simply a fan of quality supplements that work and that make good on their promises. I see myself as being tough, but fair in my review.
The results/effects I experienced and the opinions I have are mine and mine alone. What works for me may or may not work for you. I am also not here to argue whether or not better or more cost efficient products exist. I did my homework and was wholly convinced that my choices for supplements would prove effective and worth my time, money, and effort. If I offend anyone, I apologize, as I am not looking to catch a beef.
Those were the formalities, so here's a little bit about me and my before Animal Pump stats.
I ordered two cans of "the pump" from bb.com after reading countless positive reviews. I also take Dymatize Elite Whey Protein Isolate, Muscle Milk, and combine that with a good diet and large appetite. I work out five days a week and my split is typically as follows:
Day 1: Chest
Day 2: Back
Day 3: Biceps/Triceps
Day 4: Shoulders
Day 5: Legs
Day 6: Off
Day 7: Off
I use the "Rep Range/Power/Shock" training format for my workouts.
I do the odd abdominals and cardio workouts, but not very often.
Before starting the stack my one-rep-max lifts were as follows:
Bench Press: 325lbs
Squat: 350lbs
Deadlift: 455lbs
My personal information before starting the stack was as follows:
Age: 21
Sex: Male
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 218lbs
Workout Experience: Three years.
I would also like to add that I am somewhat of hard-gainer. I do respond fairly well to pre-workout creatine/nitric oxide supplements.
My system for scoring includes taking into account the following factors:
1) Cost vs. Effectiveness
2) Taste and Mixability
3) Negative Side Effects
4) Ultimate Personal End Results
5) Comparison of Effectiveness/Results to Other Products.
I took the two cans (60 paks) over a two+ month period, not taking it on days off. I took it as directed, on an empty stomach, 30 minutes pre-workout.
Now then, lets get on with the review!
I spent a long time reading about Animal Pump and Universal Nutrition, taking in countless reviews and write-ups. I came away very impressed, with positive reviews outweighing negative ones at a ratio of like 50:1. So I placed an order with our bb.com and received it three weeks later. I was very excited to start my pump and was
expecting veru big things.
My first day on the pump I felt the caffeine rush in only 15 minutes and hit the weights hard. Three sets in I started to feel nauseated a bit and short of breath. I knew I had to man up, and I faught through to the end of my workout. I continued to feel rather nauseated throughout the day.
Day two was a little better, and by the end of day four I was acclimated to the product.
I started to notice that I had sustained strength through my workouts, which I was very pleased with, and I credited this to the pump. However, this wore off after only two weeks later, and I was essentially back to square one.
Through the entirety of my 60 day supply I ABSOUTELY NEVER ONCE EXPERIENCED ANY KIND OF PUMP. This had me extremely disappointed.
I did not experience any gains or improvements as a result of this product, and am wholey disappointed. This product was a big let down for me and I feel it was a waste of my time and money. I really don't know what to say because so many of you swear by this product and have had great results with it..... but not me. I found this a little odd too becasue I'm not a non-responder to creatines and NOs.
My scoring of Universal Animal Pump is as follows:
1) Cost vs. Effectiveness - This was a comparitively cheap product and very affordable. Unfortunately it was not effective at all for me. 5/10
2) Taste and Mixability - It's pills, nuff said. Convenient and easy. 9/10
3) Negative Side Effects - None, but zero results could be classified as a negative, lol. N/A
4) Ultimate Personal End Results - Nothing good to speak of unfortunately. 1/10
5) Comparison of Effectiveness/Results to Other Products - I've used a ton of different supplements, and next to Endothil-CR, this is the worst supplement that I have ever used. 1/10
My Final Thought:
This product had zero effect on me, despite my having all my other controllables in check. I was extremely disappointed in this product and cannot/will not recommend it to anyone. Animal Pump was a big let down for me and just left me stunned at the lack of ANY positive results from it. I don't know what else to say.
FINAL SCORE:
UNIVERSAL ANIMAL PUMP - 2/10

Good and brutally honest review. Repped. So you say after a couple of weeks you started to grow tolerant of the product?

Just out of curiosity, what supplements have you used that you do like?

Thanks bro. Yeah I did get tolerant, but it was a different kind of tolerant, it's not like I was tolerant of the just the stims, but more like the product had no effect on me. The caffeine content was what gave me that ok first two weeks, but my body got used to that quickly.
It's kinda hard for me to explain.

Well that's a tall order, lol. But my favourites as far as results are concerned would be, in no particular order; Noz Full Throttle, the BSN Mass Stack, SizeOn, and Anator P70.

I think everyone gets products like that. Where the reviews are way better then what they experience. I felt the same way about Size On when I tried it a while back. I think I may try it again tho but this time I will be bulking.

Hey man it's good to see that you were completely honest and not trying to beat around the bush. I am sorry to hear that animal pump didnt work for you like it did for me... I respect the fact that you had the courage to post this , knowing that some people might try to attack you or whatever else. Plus reps for the brutally honest review.

You know...i getting sick and tired of people bashing other people on they're reviews of a product and hopefully this one don't get like that. That being said i'm the kind of person that reads hundreds of reviews of a product before i buy it and thanks man for your review of animal pump because i was torn between it and white Flood (should get my flood any day now) and i can tell it was a good and honest review.
Burns my ass when i read a review that just says it sucks without any explanation.
Keep it honest fellow lifters.

I take a pak of the Animal Pump with 1 serving of Storm mixed in water around 30 minutes before I workout.

Good honest review bro. I like you have also read countless reviews of AP and have also decided to give it a go, your review hasn't put me off because as you said the ratio of positive to negative results from this product is overwhelming. Unfortunately some people just don't react to some products, that's how it goes. Sorry to hear it didn't work for you I'm sure you'll find the product you're looking for soon but I just hope AP is that product for me lol ?!

Good honest review. Pump is one of my favorite supplements of all time but not everyone responds the same.

Hey bro, thanks for the review. Honestly, I'm really surprised. Though every product has non-responders, I haven't heard anyone who used Pump experience what you did. Sorry about that bro. After the 60 days, did your lifts go up at least? The pump can sometimes vary with diet and hydration. Anyway, if you're not happy with the Pump, keep in mind it comes with a full guarantee. If you have any problems, let me know and I'll see what I can do bro. Thanks.

Good honest review, I tried anator p70 for two months and it did absolutely nothing for me. When I stacked animal stak 2 with white blood and green bulge, i had really nice gains in size and strength.

Nice review man!!! Great job.
I have been on Animal pump for around 15 days.
This morning I went back to the gym after a break of nearly 10 days.
To my surprise, the weights I could lift were down by around 10% or more!!!
I hope to get back soon all what I lost and have some gains if possible!!!

Hey no worries, I had the exact same results with the pump. Univesal makes great products, but everyone's different. I've cycle through there animal stack 2 about three times and had crazy gains from it. I take there animal pak as my multi-v daily. Universal's great, but the pump doesn't work for everyone though. The trainer I work with swears by it though. I gave him the rest of my can.

Thanks for the review! Honest reviews are the best. I've just started using pump also, my results have been i guess in the middle of nothing and outstanding. I think i might try stacking it with other products to see if it changes the effect.

same here
I read tons of good reviews on this product. Although its very convenient it's not worth it. I had very good concentration and energy during my workout but i recieved NOOOO pump what so ever. It at the same effect as if i was taking Nutrex Lipo 6. Overall not recconmended. i had a great pump from NO Xplode. next i'm trying White Flood.
