Firmware 1.9 Released in Japan: Wallpapers

The 1.90 Firmware update just hit Japanese PS3s. Here are the features:

? Ability to rearrange games on the XMB
? Option menu now includes "eject disk"
? Press triangle to eject games/CDs/movies in the XMB
? XMB backgrounds --- Ultimate PS3 Wallpaper Guide! (Click Here)
? Change the folder classification
? Emoticons
? Change CD output to 44.1/88.2/176.4kHz
? Force 24Hz output for Blu-ray over HDMI
? Change PS3 video settings in-game
? "Bit Mapping" in the "Music Setting"
? Save AVCHD type animations from a Memory Stick
? Change settings like upscaling while playing PS and PS2 games
? Add bookmarks
? Web browser security function in the browser's tool section
? Avatar moves during audio visual chat

Released in the US and Europe today. Still waiting to hear on word of all the advantages but, the Wallpaper and changing the resolution in-game look to be awesome add-ons.

I hear that supposed to be released in Oct. They are doing Beta testing now and then are supposed to open the door for more testers before then. I'm assuming it'll get pushed back to at least Christmas time or Spring of next year. However, they have been working on this thing forever. It was planned to e used on the PS2 but, it wasn't as expansive and interactive as they wanted so, they held it for the PS3.
