How long has whey been expensive?
I went into my local Nutrition store today (not GNC) and the 5lb ON tubs were up to $47. The last time I bought whey from him, it was $30 there.
I asked why the 50% increase, and he said that it was because of the bad gluten from China.
Farmers are feeding more whey to their animals to avoid the tainted food from China. This caused an instant price increase in whey across the board according to him.
I checked with BB.com, but I cannot tell if the price went up yet...has it always been $37 for a 5lb container? I thought it was in the lower $30's last time I checked...but I cannot remember. Either way, it is now cheaper to buy it from bb.com than to get it from him...too bad for him..
When did the prices start getting so jacked up? Also, is the BB.com price about to go up, or has it adjusted already? Or was that store owner just ****ting me and trying to take my money?

Its already been adjusted.
Its been quite a few months that the price of whey went up.
Its becuase the price of milk went up.

Whey protein has always been expensive, IMO, lol.
But yeah, I know what you mean, its been like this for a while now, it's a "raw material" thing. And it sucks... big time.

look around for best prices, then have bb.com match the price. Ive been buying 10lbs of Dymatize elite for $46 for awhile.

I am afraid there isn't a win-win solution as it's a worldwide problem. You may search the internet and pick up the last 2-3 tubs of original priced protein available. Other than that, we all have to pay more, just like gas!

Its all going up, heck look Substance and Sustain are both no longer available , and I am sure this has something to do with it.
