Fatty poor quality ground beef on white flour dough with sodium rich sauce and crappy cheese. Sounds good to me

My theory is that a cheat meal once in a while is good for you so long as you cheat smart. For instance, say you want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Instead of white bread, skippy's, and sugar packed jelly, why not choose whole wheat bread, all natural peanut butter, and sugar free smuckers?

Here's another one. I am a midwest boy and I love a good blt, infact every midwest boy should lol, but lets face it, it's not the healthiest thing.

But you want it as a cheat meal, right?

Ok, here is what you do. First, take the pork bacon and replace it with turkey bacon. Lastly, ditch the wheat bread and full fat mayonaise for some whole wheat bread and fat free mayonaise. The lettuce and tomato can stay.

There are many ways to cheat if you are smart about it.

KC might be in the midwest, but it isn't a midwestern town. You have to go someplace where the population is < 5000 and 75% of the economy revolves around farming. I am from the "big city" (100,000) myself.

It is a cheat meal. As long as you're not doing it that often, then it isn't that bad. Given, pizza (and especially their greasy ass pizza) in general is not a health food, but it is certainly a better cheat option than a dozen Krispy Kremes or a 1/2 gallon of Ben & Jerrys. My opinion, always enjoy a cheat meal and don't overanalyze it.

I dunno about that, heh. A dozen KK are like 3000 calories and a load of fat.. but with all of the grease, the inconsistency between pizzas made because when its busy things aren't measured they're just made presentable.. I think you could easily hit that same mark as KK or some ice cream.

For instance, a 12inch Medium Pizza from PizzaHut with Sauce, Cheese and the beef topping ONLY, per slice, has.. 310 calories, 16G of Fat- 6G Saturated and a crapload of sodium. I dunno how many slices come in the pizza but I asssume something like 10 so thats 3100 calories, 160G of fat, 60G of saturated and even more sodium. KK donuts have about the same caloric value as a slice of pizza as previously mentioned, but a lot less fat overall and a lot less saturated. I know you said you don't like overanalyzing a cheat because its just that, but I just wanted to show ya it can be just as bad ;P

How much protein in those KKs? How much protein in a beef pizza? At least with the pizza you're getting some protein. Also, pizza has a lot of saturated fat from cheese and animal products........KKs have a lot of trans-fats. Then we'll move onto the concept of absolutely empty sugar calories. Once again, not saying pizza is good for you, but better than a dozen Krispy Kremes. 8 slices in a medium by the way.

Very true, but the pizza nutrition fails to add in the margerine and such used to make sure the dough doesn't stick and all of that crap. I completely agree with you that pizza isn't great for you, neither are donuts or boxes of cereal, lol. Its a cheat, worry about what you eat the days leading up to, and the days after the cheat. Don't fall off the wagon and binge like some people :*(

This thread made me hungry. I miss the taste of the Pizza Hut pizzas from the 80s and early 90s. Around 93' or so their pizza quality went to hell, but since I loved their earlier pizzas I was in an extended period of denial. Their pizzas are terrible now, they're so full of grease that if you drop a piece on the table the grease would make a clear spot through the table top. Do they even bother putting flour in their dough anymore or is it just a form of white semi-solid grease? Funnelcakes - which are cooked in pure oil - are less greasy than a Pizza Hut pizza. Their toppings are extremely sparse, their pizza sauce is red salt, and their cheese tastes like low-quality plastic. I couldn't recommend a Pizza Hut pizza for any reason, it has to be harmful to the body. The last few times I ate their food I would get a bad bout of diahrrea. I think Pizza Hut is even worse for the body than McDonalds; if you're hungry for pizza find a place that at least uses quality ingredients.

I also remember the parklots of Pizza Huts being pretty busy places back when their quality was good. Now, after years of having sh*tty quality, they usually seem empty.

thats dumb to cheat on something low fat, lol. if you want to cheat go big and get back to your diet the next meal or day. as for the controversy over 12 kk donuts or pizza...hmmm, id go with donuts over pizza. haha, forget the protein go with taste, and while you eat the donuts make a coffee flavored protein shake with ice, coffee, milk, and vanilla whey. at least thats what i like to do, yumm.

I wouldnt eat at Pizza Hut or any fast food for a cheat. I work at Pizza Hut and people do some pretty nasty things there. If your going to cheat go for making your own pizza or bake some homemade pastrys or something.

Maybe you can confirm this then. I heard from a friend who used to work at Greasa Hut that a large pan pizza had 3 cups of oil.
