its proven more effective to work chest/tris and back/bis... well for me and some of the personal trainers at my gym... that is because the back compound exercises work bis and chest compound exercises work tris... so after they're worked, you do 6 sets more for each part, and you're done. or, you can put back and chest workout earlier in the week, then later on in the week, when those body parts heal, you can do arms later in the week.
i've just started a new bis/tris routine, and in one week (well one day for my bis), I can do way more weight then I could do last week (curling wise). I jumped from curling 50 lbs. over preacher to 70 lbs. :O, but I could do 70 lbs. before also, but not after other biceps exercises, now I can, seems my bicep can maintain more stress
