Suggested home equipment?
Hi.
I've been thinking of setting up a bit of a home gym and I'm just wondering what specific equipment I should shoot for?
I should have enough space in my basement and I don't want to spend more than roughly 1500-2000 USD right now if possible.
Right now I just have a stationary bike, dumbbell set and an old "total gym" that doesn't really give me a full workout. I also bike and run a lot but I want to build a bit more muscle.
Any information would be appreciated,
Thanks.

Either join a gym, or buy lots of free weights e.g. barbell, heavier dumbbells, weight discs.
You could consider a power rack, pullup bar, dipping station. Just giving you ideas.
Welcome to BB.com by the way and good luck my friend!

ebay rack (there is one always listed for 179, new, shipping is reasonable)
300 lbs olympic weight set (dicks sporting goods 130-150)
FID bench (no less than 500 lbs total user capacity 200-250)
dip station (75+ or get creative and make something)
If dips and pullup/chinups arent part of your exercise routine, make it one, they work, your objective is to do them weighted, so might be a good time to go ahead and pick up a belt that allows you to add weight.

That pretty much covers it. However, you can do dips in the rack if you do a makeshift setup like most do with a couple pipes or bars
Dick's runs specials on the oly sets as well for like $109, which BTW is the norm except for a couple of months per year...that way they can say that the set is on sale for the lower price, even though that is the price for 10 out of 12 months. They also raise the price back to the $150 level when the put out "SPECIAL" discount coupons...another Dick's trick
I have the $179 rack I bought on e-bay and it is the same guage and similar to others that cost 100-200 dollars more. Cost me less than $250 delivered to my door.
EDIT: Don't forget to pick up a set of oly' dumbbell handles as well!

Here's an idea
Well welcome to bb.com and welcome to the workout equipment section.
Well here's what I would do:
-Powertec power rack (because of dip handles and various positions chinup bar) or you could get anything that's strong and has those options (maybe even with a high and low pulley lat tower)
-FID bench, ironmaster, bodycraft, bodysolid, lamar, whatever you fancy
-300lb weight ste with 7 foot bar, curl bar, maybe a trap bar
***Optional
*Maybe you could get a seated leg ext/curl rotary station
*Roman Chair/hyper bench or glute ham raise or reverse hyper bench
*Leg press or seated calf raise maybe, whatever you would like to have in your gym basically
Good luck and lift hard, Joey
