Keeping in touch between dates? Is it really necessary? (Serious)
Recently I met this girl through a mutual friend and we got talking one night at the bars. I got her phone number and gave her a call a few days later to set up a date a week ahead of time. We didn't talk all week until she called me to cancel a day before our scheduled date. We made new plans for next Friday (today). So again, we didn't talk all week until she calls me last night to check if I still wanted to chill. I tell her I already had plans, which I did. I tend to make plans early and since I didn't hear from her I figured she was probably ditching me again...lol. We shared a laugh about our mutual flakiness and I reassured her that I did in fact want to see her again.
So she asks me if I'm free Saturday or Sunday and I tell her I can meet her for dinner Sunday night.
Do you guys think this is wierd? That this girl and I havn't talked much at all except for short phone calls to set up our first date? I've only met her once, and she doesn't have AIM. (I typically talk to girls every now and then on AIM...makes easy, accessible conversation but this girl is strictly phone only).
I'm probably thinking too much into it, but just wanted to get some opinions. The way I see it, we should have at least talked once or twice during the week to get to know each other more and stuff but who knows...maybe this is better because I don't end up being her phone buddy and I can stay mysterious until date time, where we can talk face to face.

The bottom line is her interest level is fairly low, so the posibility of succes is there but it isnt very high. If she was very interested she would have taken the time to call. You are not high on her priority list. You should show that she isnt very high on yours either, or just quit after the first date if things dont go spectacular.

Yeah that's what I figured...I didn't care to call her either.
I guess we'll just have to see how the first date goes. All we know about each other is where we went to school and where we live and work, etc. Havn't had a first date yet like I said, so we'll see how things go on Sunday. Thanks.
