Talking New Kitchen Setup...

So once the velocity diet is over and the 10 days phase off bringing in normal food is done i'm gonna do a 40/40/20. Just need some advice on kitchen equipment...

I just alos came back from sydeny and moved to perth so I literally have nothing, I was thinking of getting the following...

- 1 small pan
- 1 large pan
- 1 wok, for cooking loads of veggies and meat at a time
- Grill, one of those ones that has the flat section and the ribbed section to rain the fat off.
- pasta maker to make my own healthy pasta
- bread maker, make my own good bread.
- rice cooker
- a small and large pot
- Blender

Is there really anything else that you would need in you kitchen? I mean you have a small pan for things like eggs and small amount sof cut up veggies, a large pan for the steak/chicken or it can be done on the grill and so can a hell of alot of other things. The wok can be used for making lots of food to store at one time or things like stir frys, pasta maker, might get it, learn how to make pasta fresh and then I know exactly whats going into it Same with the bread maker, I can make my on bread with lots of goodies like flaxseeds and all and no bad preservetie **** thats bad for you + it's fresh. Rice cooker, kinda obvious... and a small and large pot for sauses, cook the pasta and everything else a pot is used for, kinda obvious.... Blends, again obvious...

Is there anything else you guys would use? Or actually have that you use on a regular basis that helps save time or is just handy to have? Except like knifes and forks, chopping boards for the smartasses that would have mentioned those...

Thanks, i'll rep also

ice cream scoop!

A very good knife will come in handy. Im not sure id bother with the bread/pasta maker though i've no idea if it would end up saving u money in the long run so might be worthwhile.

Digital Scale
Measuring Cups
Big Bowls for mixing salad
Baking trays - can do homemade protein bars/slices etc and muffin tray would be handy for protein muffins

Smile Containers . . .

I find a large selection of reusable plastic containers (Tupperware or equivalent, even recycled food packaging) is very handy, I use them constantly. Larger ones 4 storing cooked foods in my fridge or freezer & smaller ones 4 taking food 2 work & microwaving.

Microwave and microwave containers. I buy the Multix/Glad resealable containers so that I can make up bulk meals and freeze them. Come home at night 5min in the micro while you're in teh shower or whatever and your dinner is done. Or lunch... or brekky.

Crockpot is REALLY handy for bulk cooking. I make curries, soups, stews in there and some may suggest that this isn't healthy food but once you start chucking in beans, roo, tuna then I definitely challenge that. Package it into the little containers with some brown rice (bulk cooked in the micro) and your sorted. I've made wicked soups in there too.

Get a couple of good knives, you'll appreciate them. A big chef knive and a smaller 10-12cm would do it.

Blender has come in handy too, though if I was going to do it again I'd get a food processor.

Toaster for your bread! Make sure it toasts big/thick slices.

Thats about all I can think of at the moment.

One thing I also use A LOT is resealable bags. I use them to store cereal, beans, flour, to marinade meats and so on. Also when you freeze meat you can wrap it in some cling wrap with marinade on it so you can pull it outta the freezer early in the day and it'll marinade while it's thawing etc ready to use that night.

I'll stop here

when you buy your electric grill, buy the one thatg you can remove the grill to wash it. Trying to wash the electric grill without getting the appliance wet is near impossible, it leaves you with the only option of wiping it off when its still hot...thats fine but I have burned my fingers once or twice. I have said to myself at least ten times that I wish I had the removable grill one.

Just a thought
