I had a lucid dream last night
Okay I had a lucid dream last night. It was definitely the coolest thing that has ever happened to me. It was crasy. I was dreaming about an insane asylum, and then I was like wtf, I'm not insane, I must be dreaming. and then after that I was like holy ****, I'm lucid dreaming. It was the first one i have had. The next thing I knew Iwas in my school (dreams do that to me a lot) and I punched this kid in the face. It was teh best dream I ahve ever had. But then my dog woke me up. Anyway I just thought I'd share dat with the misc.

you realize that you are dreaming and get to experience the dream as you control it, and it turns out realistic because it is a dream.

It took me about month to get it down. But I definitely suggest it. You can do anything

I have had some very cool near-lucid dreams that I couldn't completely gain control of- I'd realize I'm dreaming then forget all about it. I'd imagine the real deal would be pretty out there.

this is just a quick google search, theres alot more out there if you look for it (maybe even buy a book)
http://www.crhsc.umontreal.ca/dreams...n/pathway1.htm
dream recall is very important (remembering your dreams)
http://www.crhsc.umontreal.ca/dreams...on/recall1.htm
keep in mind its basically just realizing your dreaming... not so much "controlling" your dream in every ascpect... you can guide them though i guess.. ive always wanted to practice this but never did...
EDIT: oh and if youve NEVER had a small lucid dream naturally before that chances are you wont be able to harness this ability... if youve had many of them then it will be easier..

A couple nights ago I realized I was dreaming and made myself fly. I have had a few cool lucid dreams.
www.dreamviews.com has a few good tutorials.

That's not true. I have never had a lucid dream before learning about it. Now I have a couple a month.

Okay. In school we spent 9 weeks learning how to do this. (yes my school is awesome ) OKay there are several things you can do.
Basically what you need to do is realize that you are in a dream while you are dreaming.
I recommend making a dream log for about 2 weeks. Write down every dream you have in detail. Keep it by your bed, because if you do not remember it within 10 seconds you are pretty much screwed.
Do not set an alarm clock. You don't want to be waken up. You need to get at least 8 hours of sleep. Lucid dreaming occurs during REM sleep (rapid eye movement) so you need to get at least 8 hours of sleep (obviously).
Once you get into a dream, you can check to see if you are dreaming or not by:
1. look at a digital clock (if the numbers don't work, the clock is broken or you are dreaming)
2. flip a switch (same as above-iof it aint broken then your prolly dreaming)
After keeping your dream log for long enough, look at it, read through and find something that keeps popping up in your dreams, for example if you keep dreaming about a car ride or specific people) Find something like that. If you cannot, keep your dream log for a longer amount of time. ONce in a dream, if you dream about something like that, you can, with practice, say, hey, I'm dreaming about ________-I must be dreaming. ONce you realize that, you will probably wake up. Don't worry.
Keep working at it.
Keep in mind
You will NOT have a lucid dream every night
It might take months before you become a lucid dreamer
And it might be months in between your lucid dreams.
Stick with it, it is worth it
Tips the best way to lucid dream is think about it basically non-stop. You have to want it.
[b]Further Info[b]
google "lucid dreaming"
watch "Waking Life"
www.wikipedia.com
What can you do in a Lucid Dream?
ANYTHING YOU WANT
While you are lucid dreaming, if you want to find someone, find a phone and call them.
If you want to fly, fly. It's as simple as that.
The last thing you should know about is false awakenings. Some people have lucid dreams and they keep thinking that they are waking up, but they are not. They get scared ****less and freak out. Don't do this. You will wake up in time. Some people are really tired after lucid dreaming and they can't wake up. To avoid this, you can meditate in your dream.
and yes you can talk to people in your dreams
and lastly, yes you can have sex with hot chicks in your dream

I have these a lot...I started when I was way younger because I used to have terrible nightmares, sometimes night terrors. So lucid dreaming helped a lot, because I could correct bad dreams or simply end them. Now I control my dreams a lot, sort of comes naturally.

Did you ever ask one of the nightmare characters any questions? For example, "Why are you chasing me?" or something like that?

Ah flying dreams are great!!!! Mine are more like floating though, like something is pushing me up and I can still steer. It's odd to feel something you've never experienced. I dream about success doing normal things, or seeing my bf And food lol, lots of junk food

I would usually yell at them or beat them up, but sometimes I'd talk with them and diffuse the situation. I did find that my punches were really weak, but if I threw a LOT of force into one, I'd move so much that I'd wake myself up. But sometimes I'd tell myself I was just dreaming and start telling myself to wake up, only to wake up and realize that I'd be yelling "wake up!" I also cry for real if I cry in my dream. I'm a really active sleeper hehe

That's called a false awakening I believe. That's why you should check the fingers on your hands to see if you are dreaming. If you are dreaming, your hand will be abnormal in some way. I have had a finger growing out of one of my fingers, 6 fingers, and even a tiny arm growing from my wrist.
