Yet another implant issue (serious)
This would be a question for the other women who have implants.
Since yesterday evening, I've been experiencing a sharp, somewhat burning sensation in my left pectoral muscle, about 3" below my collarbone, so above the actual breast itself. I've been trying to think of a way to describe how it feels--at first, it felt like I was being jabbed with a corner of something in only one area, and now the pain is somewhat localized in an arc above the breast. Honestly, it feels a lot like it did when I first had my BA, and the pocket was still healing--and I also feel pain when I stretch or use the muscle.
I lift weights, but I hadn't done anything more strenuous than lift my bike down stairs so I could ride it, which I've done a hundred times before (and for which I use the other arm anyway), it had been a couple days after lifting, etc. etc.
So, my concern is obvious. What on earth is this? Did I pull a muscle? Did I accidentally tear the pocket? How can I best allow this to heal? Should I go back to wearing a compression garment? Should I see my surgeon? I've had the implants for 7 years.
As far as pain goes, it doesn't really hurt that much. It's more discomfort than anything. But I'm concerned about what exactly it might be, and the healing time involved.
