Quad Sweep?
What exactly is quad sweep? I've heard the term thrown around a lot, but I've never fully understood what it is. I think it's the "width" (when viewed from the front) of the muscle. For example, when I see natural teen bodybuilders do an ab/thigh shot, you can see that there's a really rigid line of muscle that goes up the middle of their thigh, but then there's no muscle outside of that. When I look at pictures of pro bodybuilders I see the difference because they have more width to, say, the vastus lateralis. So is that what is meant by quad sweep? And if it is, how do you develop it? I know about the feet close together straight out stuff, but my biomechanics are always different from everyone's, so I'd rather ask where one should expect to feel pain during proper development of a good sweep. Thanks ahead of time.

I think it's the separation between the quads and hamstrings.

It can move one's heart to see a young couple romantically enthralled with each other. But the heart becomes deeply sad just a few months later - to see their paralyzing dependence on one another.

Sweep is development of the outer quads, so when you look at them from the front the quads have a nice curved line from the knee to the hip area.

So I'd assume you should feel the burn somewhere on the outside of your quads, no? It may seem like a stupid question now, but like I said my biomechanics are really different from the mainstream. Do you feel a burn here when working for sweep?

Hack Squats help develop the quad sweep very nicely. Look at Branch Warren's legs for example. He has the best legs in the business.

Nice john!!
Sweep I see as really the bottom half of the 'X' body shape. Though in contention, back in the day (arnold, etc), The X shape wasn't as big a priority as it is now a days. Or at least, didn't seem to be.

Thanks Prophet...that's what I needed to know. I'm quite partial to the iron age physiques lol...so I guess I won't have a whole lot of sweep when I achieve my desired level, but I think it looks better...much more proportional and aesthetically pleasing. Thanks all.
