Hair cut question
So I have like a shag hair cut and recently it has been getting poofy like an afro rather than straight. Do you know what I should have the barber do? Last time I told them to thin it out, but it still seems to be poofy.
And can someone explain what layering is? and if it would help

i think what my lady does is layer it with a razor? lol im not exactly sure what layering is, but my guess is they cut it by layers, like cutting the top layer one length, the middle a diff and the deepest a diff, and it makes you lose a lot of hair without looking like an idiot, but ya, I'm so glad I found someone who know how to cut it, cause if I go to like supercuts I come out looking like a total d-bag
