Why do some people drink gallon - 2 gallons of water a day?
I know if you take creatine, I think the directions say to drink atleast a gallon of water. Though I have never taken it, so I don't know.
But otherwise, why is it necessary to drink that much water? I definitely don't get more than a gallon per day.

lots of us working out sweat a lot and need to replace the water on top of just staying hydrated, it is also good for high protein diets.

If your on a cut it keeps your water weight regulated after you lose it the first time. Your body doesnt need to hold onto water if there's a constant flow.

We like to pee.
Plus, we like to remain hydrated, and I probably go through nearly a gallon of water alone during my workout. There's really no magic number, just make sure to stay hydrated.

10-12 hour shifts each day doing intense labor plus brutal weight training...
I used to drink too much water but now I've cut down to about 4.5-5.5L of water depending on what I've been eating and how active I've been throughout the day. I feel much better this way.

All of the above
All of the above plus:
A lot of people who are trying to lose weight drink a lot of water so that they don't eat as much since it can make you feel full for a while.
I have also read some research somewhere that said at least part of your liver's job is processing and getting rid of fat. If you do not get enough water, your kidney's can not properly do their job of getting rid of wastes and pass some of their work along to the liver. Which means that your liver is no longer getting fat out of your body becuase it is doing something else.
If someone really knows about the liver and kidneys, please correct me if I'm wrong.
