Cutting diet I wanted to share (tha crumb cake: original Author)
This is a Strict Diet for 8 weeks. No CHEAT days, None. 56 days Straight. If you can't deal with it, then this isn't for you. If you can hang, The results will be Phenomenal.
This is a Diet for someone who is in Shape, but just needs to lose those LAST few pounds of Stubborn fat.
This diet will work ESPECIALLY for those with excess Fat in the lower abs, thighs, lower back area.
Diet Guidelines:
Avoid All starches, You don't need them if your goal is to get down to 4-7 ****ing Percent BodyFat.
1. Eat Tons of Green Veggies (Fiber)
2. Eat Lots of Healthy Fats ex. Steak, Flax Oil, E.v. OliveOil, Salmon, Fish Oils, etc. (Energy)
3. Eat TONS of Protein (Preserve Muscles)
4. DRINK 1 1/2 gallons of H20 a day AT LEAST.
Avoid ALL fruit drinks, Juices, rice, breads.
Eat carbos ONLY after a grueling Glycogen depleting workout.
You will have Tons of energy from the Healthy Fats,
Good digestion from the Fiber,
and great Muscle Hardness and Protection from the Protein.
Healthy Fats = Energy
Protein = Muscle Hardness, Muscle Protection
Fiber = Digestion, and various other health Benefits.
Healthy Fats, Lots of Fiber, And TONS of Protein. That's the key.
Not only will you DROP bodyfat while maintaing Muscle, but you will ALSO have an abundance of energy and your skin (complexion) will be looking great as well.
Example of a Day...
1. 3 servings of Whey/ 1 tablespoon of Flax Oil
2. 8 - 10oz London Broil Steak (Extra Lean)/ 1-2 cups Green Veggies.
3. Grilled Salmon/ 1-2 cups Green Veggies.
4. 3 servings of Whey/ 1 tablespoon of Flax Oil
5. 2 Cans of Tuna/ Chopped Onions/Celery/ 1 tablespoon of Safflower Mayonaise.
6. (Post Workout) MRP or 2 servings of Whey/10oz Orange Juice.
7. 8-10oz Extra Lean Steak/ 2 cups Veggies.
Breaks Down to about:
Protein 1.5 - 2 grams per lb of Bodyweight
Fat .5 - .75grams per lb of Bodyweight
Carbs (only post workout) 30-50 grams
Fiber in the form of Green Veggies - As much as Possible.
Supplements:
Do NOT take ANY FAT BURNERS...why? They will Surpress your appetite TOO much, You need to eat every 2 hours. If you take a fat burner you won't be up to it.
1 Multivitamin
Extra Zinc 30 - 50mgs
Fish Oil Caps
Flax Oil Liquid
200mcg Selenium
800mgs Folic Acid
800iu Vitamin E
2grams Vitamin C
WORKOUTS:
Staying ACTIVE!! is the KEY. ALWAYSSSS stay Active.
Lift 4 times a Week. Alternate Between Heavy Low Rep workouts, and High repetition Moderate Weight Workouts.
Cardio, 4-7 days a week, Alernate Between 20 min High Intensity (Jump Ropes, Sprints) and Low intensity for 45min - 1hour (Walking, Light Jogging, Jumping Jacks (lol) )
This DIET is NOT easy by Anymeans, It takes proper planning a day ahead of time. (You have to have the Steaks/ Veggies/ Chicken/ Salmon, Thawed out Before cooking them, Put stuff in Tupper Ware..you Just have to be Prepared.)
Be prepared to Go through at LEAST 1lb of lean Steak a day, and 10 servings of Whey Powder a day and TONS of Green Veggies a day. Be prepared to be going grocery shopping at least twice a week.
Like I said ths diet is not easy, But oh well, No one said this game is Easy.
But Remember if you can stick through it for 8 Grueling weeks, You'll be Satified at the End with your Amazing Results.
Good Luck.
p.s. NEVER mix Fat and Carbs at the Same meal.
Peace,
Crumcake.

For real man. I used to eat exactly like this. I ate all the time and stuffed myself (at least 5 chicken breasts a day and SOOO much broccoli and other veges), yet I got down to 5.2%bf. I have kinda laxed on my diet and I'm up to like 8%, but this is truely the key to being extremely lean. Don't count calories, dont regulate how much you eat. Just exercise a lot and eat as stated above. Props to tha crumb cake and omega.

eat zero carbs (except a few after workout) and exercise like a maniac... well you're obviously gonna lose weight like that. I guess if you are about to compete you might want to do that but why else would you?

Yeah, I dont know why people want to read books and debate and blah blah blah, when all you really have to do is eat clean and work hard. For me it was kinda intuitive. It got me as lean as I'd ever want to be, And only only did maybe 2 15 min sessions of HIIT cardio a week.
Now if only bulking were this easy...

remember veggies like brocolli, squash, bellpeppers, zuccine have the CALORIES and substance you need to get you through
unlike lettuce, and greens like that.....
so I would have a fist full of veggies boiled and 1 piece of meat (ckicken, steak, hamburger, fish etc.) broiled the size of your palm
about 4-6 times a day.....
and lots of water
thats it

would this routine lose it's efficacy if the steak was replaced by chicken(breast/thighs). steak is expensive.

edit
should be this:
the fat in steak or in fattie pieces of chicken doubles as an energy source for you, but also as fuel to sythsize new muscle tissue
that is the beauty of combing fats with protiens
while skimping on the carbs......
1) so one meal could be ultralean meat or chicken with almost no fat but then you compensate with veggies with calories and carbs
2) while the next meal can be somethen really fattie, but just make sure your eating low carb OR no carb veggies THIS WAY THE FAT NOT ONLY AND ENERGY SOURCE, BUT ALSO A HELPER IN SYTHSIS OF NEW MUSCLE

That is one way to do it but you don't need to go that low in carbs to get ripped. You can do it with more carbs in the diet and feel better and have more energy and be stronger in the gym.
Most people suffer unnecessarily on diets because they think carbs are the devil.

the creator of the diet is not counting the carbs in veggies
wich could be another 75-100 grams = total 125-150 a day

Watch your body closely on this diet..
I did this diet for 8 weeks up to about 2 weeks ago in preparation for a show I have 6 weeks from this Sat. My hope was to make my body use it's fat for energy. I just want to give you a "heads up" concerning possible side effects from this diet. I was eating 2 lbs per day of frozen veggies and my only other carbs came from a cup of shredded wheat bran cereal with skim milk in the morning to help cleanse the system. After 61/2 weeks of following this diet to a T I noticed I wasn't getting pumps anymore and my poundages dropped more drastically than normal for pre-contest prep. I then realized that even 2 lbs of frozen veggies doesn't have a whole lot of carbs in them. 9 weeks out from my show I started using Yams or brown rice (about 300 carb grams worth per day) every 3 rd day, following 2 days of veggie's only. My pumps are back, I'm getting leaner every day, and I have energy to train hard twice per day. ( And doing cardio twice daily). The moral of this story? Watch your body closely. Yes I was getting leaner. But too low of a carb intake for too long a continuous period will cause your body to start canibalizing your hard earned muscle tissue for energy, especially if when you start this diet your already at a fairly low BF% to begin with.

Yeah I'm carbing up every third day ( 300 gms of carbs isn't really a whole lot of carbs) and then I'm back to the 2lbs of veggies for the following 2 days. I eat 2 lbs of chicken breasts 5 days per week and one day per week I eat Salmon and one day per week lean steak. If my progress continues at my current pace in a couple of weeks I'll probably start eating Flank steak 3 days per week and chicken the other 4 days and toss out the Salmon.

I'm not a diet guru, but the 'diet' is a great day plan, but you would want to keep your body out of starvation mode. Every 3rd-4th day with a bunch carbs would end up being more effective.
That being said, when I was 40 pounds overweight I used a similar plan (less veggies more oats) and ate more then I ever did when I was overweight. You know what? I dropped the pounds very very fast. There are multiple ways to the same goal

Just wondering, any reason why egg whites are not in the diet, or did I skip over them and not read them?

wow...this fits my goal very nicely, I'm guessing i'm about 9-10% bf and i need to get down to about 7-8% or whatever until I see the bottom abs...I wish I read this thread when it started because I started my cut last friday (01-28-2005) and I am ending it until 03-25-2005 which is about 8 weeks.
I think I will start following a diet similar to this, starting tomorrow 02-03-2005 so I can prep for it, get all the stuff I need.
a few question:
1. is oatmeal allowed?
2. Natty peanutbutter allowed?
3. can I have freshly squeezed juices? I have a juicer...
please reply asap.
