1. Diet is greatly important
2. Workout Routine is next IMO
3. Cardio sessions... either perform low intensity 3 days or so a week by 20minutes at first then increase each week about 5 minutes to no more than max IMO 45mins in one session... for me this has worked best to my goals...
Tips -
Try to stick to 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism up and decrease the chance that you give your body more than it needs in any one period thus increasing the chance of stored fat... I know sometimes it is hard to get that many meals in but if that is the case try 3 traditional meals with 2 snack meals in between...
To your diet specifically -
Drop the juice... most are high in sugars... For a cut I would switch to skim milk...
Clean Foods -
Protein....my ideal sources are...
- Tuna (or if you don't like tuna...Salmon or other fishes)
- Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
- Whey Protein
- Egg Whites
- Turkey
Carbs...
- Rolled Oats
- All Bran Cereal w/ added Fiber or Fiber One
- Medium or Long Grain Brown rice
- Veggies
- Beans
- Whole Wheat Bread in Moderation
Dairy...
Fat Free Milk
Fat Free Cottage Cheese
Fats...
- Fish Oil (caps)
- Or Flax Seed Oil (I use Fish which is my personal fav)
- Almond Butter
- Nuts or Seeds
Personally what I would try to do would be to find my maintenance caloric intake then 5 days a week eat 500 calories under the maintenance and then 2 days spread out not back to back eat about 700 calories over maintenance where I place the hardest weight/exercise routine on these days... or look into carb cycling which would incorporate that idea... I say this because having a single diet all week can get boring to some...
Do not look to lose more than 2lbs/week... hope this works and good luck...
