Going travelling soon.. where should I go in these countries?

Well, I'm off to California, New Zealand, Australia, Thailand and India in a few months and I'm wondering where in (particularly nz, oz, thailand and india), I should visit?

In Australia, I'll be mainly heading down the east coast but I'm pretty clueless about where to visit in these countries. I just want to see as much as possible I guess without having to spend too much.

Things I must do while I'm out there:

- go bungee jumping (I heard nz is good for this?)
- learn to surf
- party my ass off
- visit some temples/spiritual areas, particularly in India
- visit the poorer areas in India

.. that's about it so far I guess.

My plan is to mainly do all the fun/exciting/partying stuff from US --> Oz/thailand and mainly spend my time in Thailand/India chilling out and gaining some perspective on life and hopefully seeing as much of the different cultures as possible.

Anyway, any advice is greatly appreciated, ty!

Apparently in India if they know you're a tourist they will go to great lengths to get money off you. I had this one friend who went and she said that if you go to the toilet make sure there's toilet paper in the stall already because in commonly used toilets by westerners they take it and when you get in there your stuck, you drop your load and then someone comes in and tries to sell you paper for extreme prices. Same with cabs too, they lock you in and charge you for ridiculous services like break ware, water usage in the car, and tell you it's illegal if you don't pay them. Shifty **** like that they do.

In Oz, check out the capital cities (yes all) and make sure to get your ass down the Great Ocean Road. Fantastic scenary and a damn fun drive in a fast car

Go visit the Great Barrier reef in North Queensland, Australia. You need to come here in Summer though

Yea I've already heard a lot of interesting stories about the conmen etc. I'll definately have to keep my wits about me which is why I'm particularly interested in finding out which areas are best to visit..

Well firstly.. when is summer for you guys? I'll be Australia from early Jan onwards.. I seriously can't wait to go to oz! I'm just wondering where the hell to even begin. I imagine I'll spend most of my time learning to surf and pissing about on the beach lol.. and drinking excessively actually

It starts to warm up in Australia at about October. And it gets pretty f***in hot too!

Everyone just wears surf shorts (boardies), wife beaters, and flip flops (we call them thongs here), and some shades (sunnies).

If you're after surfing head to Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast in south east Queensland.
