Other than a little sugar any downside to mixing shake with skim milk rather H20?
I'm talking all three shakes......morning, late afternoon (right after training) and before bed.
If my prebed shake is mixed with 10 ounces of skim milk........is eating cottage cheese still a good idea or should the CC be eliminated?

Does the cottage cheese contain more casein than skim milk?
Either way I'd mix in some PB.
How about my other two shakes........morning and post workout?

the cottage cheese does contain more casein than milk. But also is is a better for metabolism to because it is a soild food and will digest slower than liquid. I Milk with your shake is fine no matter how many times a day. Just make sure the milk fits into your macros for the day. but before bed i would go cottage cheeze that way it will digest slower.. if you want chug down some skim with it to, But once again. Make sure it fits inwith your dailys.

10oz of milk is roughly 10g of carbs, 40 cals. i'm pretty sure that would fit into anyone's marcos, bar contest prep.
the casein in the milk will digest at the same speed as the casein in the CC.

thats not ture. 10oz of over 3 cups equal 30grams carbs, even when not cutting could be more than enough for some people to fit in another meal. As for milk casein to digest at the same rate as cc casein this could be true to, but whole food will always be better for your metablism than a liquid.

im assuming when you say shake, you mean a whey protein shake right? its kind of a waste of whey because whey protein is a fast absorbing protein and milk will slightly slow it down which kind of defeats the pupose of using it? if you have to have a shake because you can't stomach CC or for whatever reason you are having a shake at night, i suggest you get casein protein. or if you using the shake because you cant get enough calories before bed, then just eat more CC lol.

I have mine with water all the time becuase im slightly lactose intollerant, also the personal trainer at my gym reccomends to every1 to use water as some people find milk hard to digest.

8oz of milk has 9g of carbs, so 10oz has a few more, say 12g of carbs. whole food is better, but how much so is undoubtedly negligible.

It's not a waste of whey, I always have whey with skim milk post workout and pre workout.
I have milk in all of my shakes...I've never actually tried whey with water LOL.
Also, I'd like to here more opinions on this question.
