"over doing it" story and two questions
im sure many of us have heard this before, when your mom or g/f or something see's u walking funny after a leg day and says u "over did it", and u think "psh what they know, they dont even work out, this will only make me stronger." Well guess what...i think..i finally, actully over did it. I have been training my legs with weights since september 2005 and i have needed to limp and walk weird many more times than i can remember. But after my last leg workout, i literally have not been able to walk for 4 days, nothing is pulled or broken i assure u, i can now walk, sorta, but it's more like waddling, and it's still harder to walk now, 4 days after, than after any other leg workout i have ever had. i had to cancle plans, and of course workouts because of this. I increased weight, reps, AND total sets all in one workout, but i learned my lesson and wont do it again. From now on(when i train legs at least) im gonna try what lee haney recommend, "stimulate don't anililate". So that brings me to my two questions: First should i do low volume training for just my legs, or should i do it for my upper body too?(this would hopefully reduce my recovery time between workouts allowing me to train more often)
and Two: how many sets should i do per body part? like 4-5 for big muscles and like 3 for small ones?(excluding warm up sets)
Any help on this would be HUGELY appreacited, thanks eveybody =)
