Sweep - how big?

Ok -- I got such great advice on how to build up my tris (and let me tell you that moving my arms this week will be a challenge that I thought I'd throw perhaps a unique question/challenge....

Years of competitive sports (hockey and soccer) have given me some pretty muscualr legs - mainly my quads...I have been told I have a 'sweep' and though that's great and all I would love to lessen it? Just a little? I love the shape of my upper legs in general but feel that when I turn around for the back view my quads come out the sides and I would love to streamline it a little....any thoughts? Don't mean to come off as ungrateful BTW I love the athletic look, just thought I would see what I can do in the summer while I am working on symmetry.

Thanks

Ahhh thanks sixzebra! That's sweet. I do actually love the muscular legs I just find that in some angles the quads can overpower the rest of me! So, thought I would see how I can lessen this myabe beef up the calves?) hmmm, thinking I should shut up and be greatful though and deal with it LMAO.

Gonna have buff legs...genetically speaking

Hey There, At five foot four, your legs were most likely meant to be a hair more stocky than your five foot ten counterparts. Now, for me personally, I love the look of your quad / hammy / glute complex. Honestly, your glutes are darn near perfect: I'm supposing you have heard this before, yes? However, the one thing I might agree with you on, is the fact that your lower body is dominant over your upper body (probably what other judges are telling you, when they speak of your "sweep)"....IE your lower body muscles are much more developed and sculpted than your upper body muscles: which are very refined, but lack similar development.

So what to do, well at six foot one, I have never had the pleasure of hearing the phrase, " your lower half is darn near perfect!" So from my plebian twenty years of training a tall-guy experience, I offer: have you tried high-intensity blood-volume training? This type of training is geared towards shaping, toning and sculpting individual muscles / muscle-groups. IE...reps in the twenty range and lots of counter-muscle supersets: Hack squats with stiff-legged deads, walking dumbell lunges with leg curls, so on and so fourth. You'll have to back off the weight for sure, but I would suggest you'll experience the refinement, rather than development, you are looking for.

Hope this helps, and see you at the TOP!

Thanks to everybody's great comments...yes I love the legs but have been told that they can overpower - for symmetry purposes only. This sport is funny that way - I should (and am) happy with my development but then it plays on you when you think you can come in tighter and leaner. I will keep doing what I am - very similar to what bodyauditor has suggested. It's only been a few months of this type of training so I'll give it some more time....

In the meantime still working on adding some size to the triceps and shoulders while keeping my back toned...WHEW! What a delicate balancing act this sport can be.

Thanks again for your kind words and encouragement...hoping to see you at the top

id say just bring the rest of your body up to par with your legs they are amazing and lessening them would be a killer!
