can't you just transfer a mp3 file to the phone and use it as your ringtone?

I use Cingular (dont know if it matters), use a program called Xingtone.
I still have it in .rar, not sure if the serial still works... I think there might be a fee to pay (one time like 15 dollars or something)
Xingtone - 2.55MB

Tonethis.com works great with verizon if your phone is compatible. I use it a lot for new tones

i use acid from sonic foundry. I just put open the mp3 file in there, select what i want for my ringtone, render it as a .wave file, hook my phone (treo) up to my computer and copy it into the ringtones folder. I've done it with my mom's razr too
